Customer Reviews:
The First Step Of a Great Composer.......2003-03-31
When Ivan Lins recorded this album, in 1970/1971, he was facing their first big hits, 'O Amor ? Meu Pa?s' ('Love Is My Country')and 'Madalena', made famous by Elis Regina and re-recorded by the Divine Sarah Vaughan, among many other great performers.
Ivan was one of the founders of MAU, Movimento Art?stico Universit?rio (Universitarian Artistic Movement), a group of composers that made a revolution in the Brazilian Music. Ivan is a very refined singer/songwriter. At that time, he used to sing like David Clayton-Thomas, of Blood, Sweat & Tears, but changed his way because he was getting a throat disease. In this album, there are great songs like 'Corpo-Folha', 'Minha Hist?ria', 'Salve Salvw', 'A Pr?xima Atra??o' and many others. A great album!
