i can only agree with the other reviews of Maestro Navarro's MIEL = this an outstanding CD of freshly original imagination & phenomenal guitar playing in a beauty-full Cuban style !!! reminiscent of Ralph Towner's wonder-full "Solo Concert" recording, the artistry of both the compositions & power-full playing [as well as the richly authentic feel & concept of this music] makes this a classic guitar recording that deserves much more recognition from the acoustic guitar community... i hear a distinct Villa Lobos influence in the atmosphere of this music yet Jose Angel Navarro's guitar playing & creativity is fiercely individual & unique in it's passionate beauty... truely classic timeless guitar music !!! OLE Maestro Navarro... OLE !!!

If you like acoustic guitar music, if you have even the slightest interest in things Latin, you should own this record. Jose Angel Navarro is a devotional musician who has chosen the guitar as his vehicle, not just a virtuoso guitarist, but even if he were "only" the latter he would be, on the strength of this one recording, one of the great innovators of recent times. No one sounds like him, no one writes like him. The Paco de Lucia of Cuba? Listen and decide.
