Fossati is certainly more than a fine musician, in fact his songs are run through by facts of life mixed to historical reports, particularly in this "700 Giorni" (700 Days), presumably the days the Italian resistance movements needed to take over the Nazi occupation (with the Allies' help, naturalmente). However, this album too is filled with supremely estatic moments like in "Una notte in Italia" (Night in Italy), a magical ballad that tells of the Italians, and of their thoughts of future amidst the melancholy of present. Fossati knows how to touch more than one chord in the attentive listener, hence the advise: Have an Italian to English dictionary with you if you plan to enjoy his majestic sounds in their entirety.
