'Flauta del sol' merece un piropo muy espe y conocido!.......2000-08-01

Es un flautista con tanta versatilidad, que inhalando un bocado de aire a millon, va 'escupiendo' notas musicales a una velocidad de despegue 'full potencia'! Es musica Venezolana 'tan sumamente autentico' e 'interpretado con tanto aplomo' que quisiera poder escribir un piropo muy conocido, pero que por razones de etica, puesto que se pudiera interpretar de otra manera, tengo que abstener de hacerlo. Bien, dicho esto, quiero que sepan que "Mananitas en Caracas" me hizo estremecer, no pude escuchar "Alfonsina" y otras que fui reconociendo. Aplauso! Visitame cuando puedes por favor.

This CD will blow you away. His style and technique are wonderful. I've played the flute for years, and am amazed at what Marco is able to do. Even my husband is totally amazed and impressed, which doesn't happen very often. I've asked Marco to come to the West Coast for a concert. Hopefully, we will be fortunate enough to have him in the not too distant future.

Soul stirring music that wakes up the child in you..........1999-07-16

Other flutists rave about Granados' sparkling tone, his incredible virtuosity, but what I love most about this CD is that the music reaches into new places in our collective American soul. This is music to wake up our child selves, to dance with,to laugh with, to shout about! Flute sounds with foot-tapping Venezuelan rhythms, maracas, cuatro, guitar,and drum tickle our memories of freedom and make me personally rejoice that Marco Granados has brought us such fabulous music!

I've listened to a lot of flute music, from Galway to Rampal, but Marco Granados is absolutely incredible (I happened to hear him perform last fall in New York City, which is how I learned about the CD). He plays Latin American tunes, as well as some classical ones, and spins them into these mesmerizing virtuoso showpieces. I've played this CD for lots of my friends--even the ones who aren't flute fanatics, and didn't know much about Latin American music. They really love it, and, as one of them said. "Who needs Ricky Martin?"
