I have always loved the beautiful and exotic music from both Martin Denny and Arthur Lyman. And while I do have ALL of Arthur Lyman's albums [on vinyl] I recommend this CD, which is a 'best of' compilation: Titled as his 'greatest hits.' And it is the very best of Arthur Lyman's music to date on just one CD. I purchased a different one several years ago when all of my stuff was in storage [I was in the mood for that exotic sound] and the CD was not a very good one. This one is, and is highly recommended.

I grew up listening to these beautiful sounds of Arthur Lyman, due to the fact that my mother and father used to play this music quite often. And whenever I hear Arthur Lyman's music; it magically transports me back to my childhood. One of my favorites pieces of music by Arthur Lyman is "Yellow Bird." It reminds me so much of my father and mother dancing shoeless on the living room floor. There is a listening sample here on amazon, and I suggest you try it out and listen to these wonderful sounds. They truly are magical. There are 25 tracks of his music on the CD, and also, the CD comes with a booklet showing all of his albums and liner notes on the life of Arthur Lyman. He is truly missed! Thankfully, he left us some beautiful sounds.

It's about time somebody put out a real Arthur Lyman's Greatest Hits - These cuts span his entire career and the sound quality is much better than previous versions on CD. 25 incredible tracks - a booklet containing scans of all the LPs ( a great bonus for Lyman devotees) and informative liner notes - What else do you need? oh yeah, a nice martini to enjoy it to.
