Great album-.......2002-01-13

This is a high energy cd full of upbeat, fast tempo and rhythmic merengues. For those of you who are already familiar with Nelson de la Olla's style the only surprise here is that this cd is even better than the previous three. For those who are experimenting with this style known as merengue-mambo for the first time- "bienvenidos". This cd is primarily for dancers due to the fast-pace beat but can be enjoyed by those who prefer to listen to music because the lyrics are quite entertaining. Nelson de la Olla transforms life themes and everyday happenings into music that everyone can laugh about and enjoy in any social or party atmosphere. The recording sound is also of top quality and each song has a different musical component that contributes to the overall success of the album. Give it a try if you like this kind of merengue.

IN THIS CD WITH 10 PUMPIN TRACKS, NELSON DE LA OLLA BRINGS OUT THE BEST EVER. WITH SONGS LIKE "YO COMO QUE TE CONOZCO","PICHIRRI", AND "PIRULO" NELSON GETS EVERYBODY DANCING AT THE CLUBS STICKING TO HIS MAMBO AND CATCHY LYRICS. ESTO ES "PA'SOFOCA".

This album is really great. The lyrics are funny and catchy and the mambos are all that. If you wanna get a party bumpin' all you have to do is play any track from this album and you're gonna get people on the dance floor. Pa'Sofoca is the best Banda Chula album yet. This is truly an artist that has gotten better every album. First it was "Tengo PIque" then "Hay Que Olla", then "Esto Es Pa'Goza" now "Yo te conosco". All the songs are great. The production and the arrangements are on point. I hope other merengueros follow Banda Chula's steps and start making music this good. This album is a must have. Every DJ should have it because no party will die if you play this album. Esto si te va a sofoca cuando bailes cualquier disco de este album.

This is their Best CD EVER!.......2000-10-27

They just continue to put out some pumpin' sounds. This is the best CD they've put out so far. I hope they put out two more CD's next year. If you want to dance or even work out in the gym, this is the CD for you.

I reviewed his previous album,"Original sin Copia", and I really thought the album could get no better. In 2000, Nelson releases "Pa'Sofoca", a 10-track banger that can kill you if you can't stop dancin'. Starting with "Llego el Verano", the album comes complete with hit after hit. Cuts like "El Mamon", "El Pichirri", and "Pirulo" has great production and catchy lyrics. However, the merengue gem of the album, "Yo te conozco", has "hit" written all over it. Nelson once again brings people to DANCE!
