Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Deranged Brazilian Post-Punk.......2005-11-18

This is a compilation of their best work. The first ten songs in this CD is their complete first album: "Cade as Armas?," the best Rock `n Roll record, EVER. Don't believe me? The sonic power, incredible rhythm, and truly honest and raw vocals will convince you. Every guitar riff, every shout, and every sound effect are combined to create the sonic equivalent of an intercontinental ballistic missile, or an atomic bomb, the end of the world. These girls rock hard; their rhythm is forceful and precise, brutal. Their lyrics reflect the aggression and fast melodies of their music, a perverted video game. They talk (or yell) about politics, the pressure of urban life, and heartbreak. Their love lyrics are far from cheesy though. "Amor Inimigo," or "Enemy Love," talks about broken glasses and X-Acto blades. Loucos Sentimentos. Labirintos. The cops come, and the cops go. They go when they are called and they go when not. The rhythm guitar is freaky and fast; the vocals, call and response, melodic; the emotions, intense. The booklet text nails it: "their music was aggressively celebratory, they had an incredible punky delivery and were ultra feminine without being pompous. Rosalia's deranged stage performances combine with her perfectly articulated and shouty edge-of-hysteria vocal delivery was an extremely organic experience." Precise and honest. Hot.
