4 out of 5 stars gold?.......2003-01-26

this collection was compiled for the frenchmarket by sonycolumbia.it is not a bad collection but no one can state that it is representative of annas best songs.it may be a greatest hits of hers(and thats still debatable) but it is by no means a great buy.still is good and includes a lot of good songs.

5 out of 5 stars Some really terrific songs on this CD!!.......2002-08-15

The first three songs, RE!, To Allo Mou Ego, and Gi'Alla, do much to establish the range of Vissi's styles. All three songs are SO good, there's no way that the rest of the CD can reach the level she sets early. If there's a word to describe Anna Vissi's songs, that word is "passion."

On RE!, Vissi sings with the unbridled ardor of Edith Piaf in her best moments. "To Allo Mou Ego" is a stunningly beautiful tango where you get the feeling that she's restraining her fire in the full power of the dance. "Gi'Alla" surprised me with it's style -- if I didn't know the language was Greek, I would have thought the song was from one of the Arabic countries. But again, Vissi let's it all hang out. When she sings the words "s'agapo" ("I love you"), you're drawn right in to the intensity of her feeling. I've got to admit that I won't play this CD unless I'm prepared to feel a little emotionally drenched afterwards.

Although all of the songs are good, my favorites after the first three are "Ime Poli Kala," and "Mou Anikis." Ironically, it was the beautiful ballad "Mou Anikis" (which I heard on a compilation CD) that inspired me to get this CD, little suspecting how she'd totally blow me away.

4 out of 5 stars This was GOOD!!!.......2002-08-03

I bought this sight unseen...I had no idea how Anna's music was or how she sounded. The picture on the CD sold me (something that usually never works on me) with Anna appearing like Medusa out of the Greek Mythology tale. Well, upon placing the CD on my player I was very pleased with the purchase. Anna sounds superb, with the best efforts found on track 10 and 11. While I don't believe she is as good as Natassa Theodoridou or Mando. I really enjoyed this CD and would highly recommend this disk to anyone's Greek music collection.
