Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Perks Up Any Mix.......2005-07-15

Hossam Ramzy perks up any mix with his esoteric middle eastern sounds.

5 out of 5 stars Immense Talent.......2003-03-12

Dreamy, jazzy, energetic - Source of Fire is a great glimpse of M. E. Music. This is a great CD. Ramzy is such a very talented musician, and even if you're not sure if you like Middle Eastern music, you'll like this contemporary CD. He is one of the most popular contemporary Middle Eastern musicians of dance music for a very good reason: immense talent.

It is sensual and lively and wonderful. It is beautiful music beautifully rendered; a feast for the ears. And, you'll probably find a song or two that just beg you to dance.

5 out of 5 stars Still good for me after all this time!.......2000-11-13

This is still the best CD for the apprentice bellydancer to start developing an individual sense of Taqsim / Improvisation. It is slow enough to allow one to try to translate the music into fluid dance movement, from sinuous slow undulations, hip figure of eights with accompanying arm positions & movements , not to mention the marathon-shimmying practice you can get out of the Qanoon number ..... just try to make your Shimmy speak like that Qanoon, habibi !

3 out of 5 stars music lover.......2000-09-18

I was not impressed. The music was nice, but a bit slow and repetitive. It is not a favorite of mine.

5 out of 5 stars Inspiring music to dance or practise to.......2000-07-11

The varied musical textures & moods, featuring different Middle Eastern instruments allow virtually limitless improvisation & experimentation in dance movement. Put it on your "MUST BUY LIST" especially if you are a bellydancer. It is also invaluable if you wish to learn to identify the sounds of the different instruments.
