Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars Great at first but after a while..........2006-04-01

Utada Hikaru has a very unique voice, and her songs are nice. I especially like how she starts the album with the song "Wait and See," and then goes to the next song, "Can You Keep a Secret," which just so happens to be my favorite song by Utada Hikaru. "Can You Keep a Secret" is a nice song with a good tune.
After the first two, the rest of the songs get a bit monotonous, and even though they are nice to listen to, I would prefer it if this album had more variety of sounds and beats. Her songs on this CD are quieter and less upbeat, and some people might get tired of listening to her songs or think her songs are not very interesting.
This album will be great for people who like not too loud Japanese pop music. If you want to listen to a 'louder' album by Utada Hikaru, you might want to check out First Love.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Album.......2006-03-29

Utadasan has to be the best J-pop artist around. I was introduced to this music while I was stationed in Japan, first by going to Tower Records in Tokyo and hearing "Automatic" over the speakers, then I met my wife who at the time was going to English school and she had all the albums. I cant stand anime, but I've heard she was in one of the japanimations.. I might have to check it out. Theres always irritating songs in every artists collection. Utada Hikaru has her own.. I dont remember them right now.
I will also give an honest opinion about her American album "Exodus". That was by far the worst album she wrote. I wont give her "props" for debuting in the states because she was born in NEW YORK. She is a great artist and I think she needs to stick to what she does best... J-pop.

5 out of 5 stars Enchanting. As always........2005-12-31

I fell in love with Hikki's songs the first time I heard 'First Love'. Since my dad had friends in Japan, I wanted him to ask them if they could buy the First Love album. Hikki's songs are absolutely enchanting and this one is absolutely no exception. My favourite would probably either be Distance or Eternally. But all of her songs are great. Though I only know a bit of the Japanese language, the words can be so catchy that they're stuck with you. Eternally and Distance are 2 examples of that. I definitely encourage this album if you're into many types of music.

5 out of 5 stars AWES0ME .......2005-06-21

I think Utada Hikaru is the best Japanese female singer.
Her voice is just so beautiful!
&Her songs have nice beats and lyrics.
Some songs on this cd that i really liked were...

Addicted to You - Dude, i So became addicted to this song!! It's really awesome. Especially if you look at the English translation. I bet lots of girls will relate to it. Like me. Hehe, i even memorized the Jap lyrics x] &downloaded it onto mp3 player. The song is basically about this girl who has an x-boyfriend or something and he has a gf but then she really likes him so she talks to him all the time and it seems like he likes her but then yeah, she doesnt know for sure. So she's addicted to him because even though he hurts her, she still goes to him and stuff... But anyways, i love how the chorus of this song goes. The rhythms are so cool from fast to slow to slow to hecka fast :D it's just awesome!!!

For You - This song is really cool too. A bit mellow kinda. I like the chorus. It gets stuck in your head. Like, you'll randomly start singing it, i tell you.

Can You Keep A Secret - haha i love this song!! Hikki is so cool with this song. The verse rhythm is so original, i havent heard a song like it!! It's so cool. I like it a lot. You will like it a lot too. This song is about a girl who likes this guy but she like doesnt know how hes thinking so she wants to get closer to his thoughts. And i think their relation ship is a secret or something and she wants to know about a secret... yeah . lol. Hikki really is a talented singer.

So yes, buy this cd and support Utada Hikaru please!!!!

4 out of 5 stars Better than First Love, but not as good as Deep River.......2004-07-06

I deeply love Utada Hikaru and think this is a really good album, but it really pales in comparison to Deep River. It does have a much better track selection than First Love and her voice sounds slightly better, but sometimes it seems all over the place to me. She can reach the high notes, but it sounds like a strain. The bad songs are Sunglass, For You, and Kotoba ni Narenai Kimochi as they were neither fast nor slow and were just a snoozefest. The bonus track also seems pointless to me. The good songs (all the rest) are very good, so they mostly make up for it.
