Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars It;s "swonderful".......2004-02-16

I play a variety of CD's at work - mostly jazz. I purchased this CD on a whim, and it's currently one of my top 5. The song selections by Bebel Gilberto, Bebo Valdes, and Orchestra Baobab are outstanding. "Ja Sei Namorar" by the Tribalistas is also a great pop song.
So far, everyone who has heard "Via con me" by Paolo Conte has asked me what the heck I was listening to. Then they ask me to play it again.
The entire CD is good. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for something a little different.

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful Compilation.......2003-12-27

Thank you NPR! Since I received it a few days ago, this CD has not left my CD player. I love the rich and eclectic mixture of vocal and instrumental music from all over the world. Although all of the tracks are fabulous, these are the ones that stay with me:

Bebel Gilberto's August Day Song (soothing vocals with a great jazzy sound)
Orchestra Baobab's Werente Seirgne (great guitar and saxophone interaction with a catchy chorus)
Edith Piaf's L'accordýoniste (Poppy French vocals--fun to listen to)
Ravi Shankar's Vandanaa Trayee (Beautiful sitar, resonating vocals)
