Though only a gringo, as far as I can tell this is the real stuff, the early early stuff, when the microphone sometimes sounds like it's inside a sock and the trumpeter hits a funny note, and they keep the recording. But the voices are young and rich and beautiful and the latin music swings from beginning to end. If you find Ibrahim Ferrer charming, go further, back into Cuba's history, try out Ignacio Pieria and Guillermo Portales, these are his leaders. I can't imagine why you'd regret it.
