Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Melodic deathmetal at its best!.......2003-02-25

I seen darktranquillity live with " the berzerker" , "strapping young lad" , "napalm death" , and, "nile" which all were awsome bands... Specialy napalm death and nile! I loved both of them because im a huge fan of napalmdeath and nile !Now, dt gave an very melodic performance with beautifull guitar solo's and riffs which i enjoyed it every much so!!I haven't followed dt's career since their debut but that doesn't mean i don't like them... Because i think dt is awsome!! Now, td's latest "damage done" is an impressive album with nothing but pure melodic deathmetal and real talented musicians that can play nothing but excellent music and we the fans can zone out to!! The best song here is "Treasonwall" good song! Well, if you like good music... Buy it !

5 out of 5 stars foreboding culmination.......2002-08-16

damage done is a fabulous culmination of dark tranquillity's prior efforts. i had fallen in love with this group's music around the time "projector" was released and have eagerly awaited each successive album to see what new turn they would take next. i dont think i've ever heard d.t. quite as aggressive as on this album. i didnt say fast..but aggressive. there's an underlying eerieness and doom to the songs while tasteful guitar harmonies still shine with a sense of hope. for a more tangible description i would say that i feel that damage done is most reminiscent of "haven" and "mind's I" squashed together in an interesting way; wonderful use of the keyboards once again but boosting the tempos and guitar rythms to a more intense level. and last but not least i must commend mikael stanne's brooding vocals. he is one of the true masters when it comes to controlling his tones and textures. this album is a definite must, even if you only like any one of d.t.'s prior works.

4 out of 5 stars Good stuff.......2002-08-03

I loved Projector and was somewhat disappointed in Haven. This one is definitely closer to Projector style-wise, but still different. Very heavy and memorable riffs and the keyboards are fairly subtle for the most part. This is an excellent CD.
