Customer Reviews:

2 out of 5 stars pure thrash... oops i meant trash.......2006-11-21

this thrash metal or whatever it's called is disgusting. it shouldn't be listened to! these guitar...um.... riffs are sorta fast so it isn't memorable. and the drummer only uses double bass drums which get boring real quick. for real music you gotta check out eminem. the only reason i gave it 2 stars is because anthrax was in taht one chappelle show episode. I dunno what you metal heads like to listen to, but for ppl like me, avoid this! the only reason i bought this is because anthrax's and public enemy's "Bring the noise" was good. i guess i was wrong....

4 out of 5 stars Old, cheesy, cool........2006-09-04

You can't really fault this album for being cheesy. It's old. Its nearest cousin is Metallica's Kill 'Em All, which is infinitely better by the way... Still, you've got to admire the musicianship in this band, and most of the songs are pretty cool.

Anthrax has re-recorded a bunch of their music. If you find yourself laughing at this album, check out The Greater of Two Evils. It's less, uh, 80s

5 out of 5 stars THIS IS REAL METAL!!!!!!!!!!!.......2006-07-14

This was the album that started it all for me... when it came out, it never left my turntable for years. Anything that wasn't metal went in the garbage. Great riffs, and excellent screaming vocals. Much different than the Belladonna Anthrax- but if you want the true definition of metal- this is it.

5 out of 5 stars the TRUE anthrax.......2006-02-13

This is the real anthrax, while i'm a fan of all anthrax this is what they should have stuck with, balls out speed metal with a shrill vocalist that just shreds your flesh, songs like Deathrider, Metal Thrashing Mad, Panic, Soldiers Of Metal, Howling Furies, total metal anthems, dont expect Belladonna or Bush era anthrax here, this is a different beast all together, this to me is still the REAL anthrax.

5 out of 5 stars KICK YOU WHERE THE SUN DON'T SHINE!.......2006-01-18

The first ANTHRAX album is a far cry from their last. FISTFUL OF METAL is the only 'THRAX album to feature NEIL TURBIN on vocals. Although many don't remember this guy, and credit JOEY BELLADONNA for the original sound of the band, he was a NASTY vocalist. This is one of my faves of the THRAX backlog because of the insanely high pitched vocals delivered over revolutionary thrash riffs from way back in 1983. Definately a unique sounding record. It should be hailed by rockers and metal heads alike. Yet this album is way under appreciated.
The songs are nothing short of in your face and kickin' ACE! I personally would take this over Metallicas debut from the same year. Anthrax are way more raw and rigid, with nasty F you up licks. Yeah, the album sounds like it was recorded inside of a tin can, but that only adds to its charm.
TEAR IT UP! LOUDER BABY LOUDER!
