Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Great Melodic Death.......2005-01-11

I was talking to someone from Germany a few days ago and they were browsing all the files I had. They liked what they saw but said I was missing a band called Mors Principium Est. It looked weird but I went to the local CD store and ordered it.

When it came in the mail I was pretty excited and least to say when I started listening to it I thought it sounded superb! It's like a perfect mix of Norther, Eternal Tears of Sorrow, Kalmah, Bodom, and occasionally Sentenced. The album is melodic to unparalleled extents and has some amazing guitar solos that aren't just show off picking but they compliment the song so well that it leaves you hungry, craving more of the music. The guitar riff's throughout the album are clever and combined with the bass, provide an excellent atmosphere for the album. The drumming is superb and technical. The vocals sound great as well, he has a great voice and when he does the clean vocals it sounds just as good, kind of liked Sentenced at times. The only downside is that the album seems too short for me because I get so into it that when it ends it just seems too soon.

Luckily they are releasing a new album that is said to be out around March '05.

5 out of 5 stars An awesome debut CD for an awesome band.......2003-09-06

If you like Children of bodom and all the new melodic death metal bands that are out there, Mors Principium Est is for you, killer guitar players with awesome keyboard lines. The singer sounds like Shagrath from Dimmu Borgir, Totally recommended for some [butt] kicking melodic deth metal after the new pretty tenderized soilwork and in flames stuff
