Customer Reviews:
KILLER TECHNICAL DEATH METAL!!!!.......2004-12-09
France's Mercyless have to be THE most underrated Deathmetal band ever. I picked up this album "Abject Offerings" back in 1995 and it has become one of my all-time favorties. Mercyless play old school Deathmetal for fans of Death, Possessed, Pestilence, Gorguts and Disincarnate. This band has two guitarists who are incredibly talented and create some of the best highly technical riffs I've ever heard. The 3rd song "Message for all Those who Died" opens with a shredding two-handed tapping guitar riff which would appeal to fans of newer Cannibal Corpse and Sweden's Deranged. The title track "Abject Offerings" has a grinding section in the middle of the song with a skull smashing twin guitar harmony. Every song on this CD is incredible. The drumming is very solid as is the entire production, Loud and clear with good quality sound for all 4 instruments. The song writing is very memorable with great Jeff Beccera-like vokills. This band has been so ignored for the past 10 years that I just had to write a review because it really bothers me that nobody appreciates this totally killer album. If you are a fan of the bands mentioned above, buy "Abject Offerings" NOW! This album totally crushes and is a perfect example of flawless well composed technical Deathmetal. Mercyless RULE!!!!
