Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars very underrated album!.......2006-01-03

If your idea of Ac/Dc is that everything must be like Back in Black then you probably aren't much of a true fan. If you love albums like high voltage or powerage or stiff upper lip or ballbreaker than you will like the laid back and blues-rock style of this album. I listen to and own every Ac/Dc album and have every concert video and have seen them three times in concert. I have learned their songs on guitar and played them at clubs and restraunts for money- this is a good album if you like Ac/Dc!
Let's face it- in order to enjoy any new Ac/Dc you have to ignore the completely lame lyrics and uninspired themes that Brian Johnson comes up with, he is not a tenth as witty and clever as Bon Scott, so just enjoy the album already! The guitar riffs are catchy and bluesy and the drumming is a little jazzy, not anything like Phil Rudd's style but still good.
I listen to this underrated album as much as anything Brian Johnson did and it is the perfect mellow Ac/Dc for my wife to enjoy with very catchy tunes. No filler at all on this album, if you like the old school bluesy Ac/Dc!

5 out of 5 stars GOOD AC/DC.......2002-03-14

There a lot of people that think this cd as well as Fly On The Wall are AC/DC's weakest work. Well, I beg to differ. This is a really good cd conisdering the time frame that it came out. I prefer to listen to this or Fly On The Wall over listening to The Razors Edge. From the opening track of Heatseeker to the closing of This Means War, it's nothing but good solid rock. If you don't have this cd, give it a try, it's worth the money.

1 out of 5 stars Is this AC/DC ??.......2001-01-11

The worst AC/DC album ever. Itýs even worst than " FLY ON THE WALL ". When they release the band catalogue, this album is almost forgotten. What went wrong ? SImply, the songs are bad, everything sounds rusty and ninspired. Maybe Malcolm and Angus realized that, and after this drummer Simon Wright left the band, replaced by bald-headed Chris Slade.

4 out of 5 stars Had to write a review for this..........2001-01-08

I couldn't resist writing a review for this album, as I'd only seen one on this page, and one giving it only three stars (I give this 4ý stars)! I realize that this album, along with Fly on the Wall, are considered AC/DC's "Lost Albums" or "Weakest Works" and things like that for some reason (and in all truth, Fly on the Wall probably is...but that's not to say it isn't great) but this is one of the first AC/DC albums I've ever bought, and I loved it straight from the start, and still do (I've got all of their albums!).

I don't know what hard rock fans couldn't like about this album. Tracks like "Heatseeker," "Meanstreak," (which is my favorite from this album) "This Means War," and "That's The Way I Wanna Rock N Roll" really light it up. Sure, it's no Back in Black, but I think it certainly measures up with "The Razors Edge," another multi-platinum album, and the one which only came a couple of years after this one. If you doubted this album before, give it a chance, man!

3 out of 5 stars AC/DC's lost effort.......2000-12-06

If there ever was an AC/DC album that could be considered a lost effort, "Blow Up Your Video" would be just that. Actually, it's not a bad album(therefore the middle rating), but the creative level on here gets a bit pitiful at times. The reason for this is incredibly weak choruses--which I believe are a strength for AC/DC. Besides the choruses, that's the only problem. Some of Angus and Malcolm's guitar work on here is downright nasty and chock full o' grooves!Weak tracks include: "Go Zone," "Ruff Stuff," "Sin for Nuthin," and possibly "Nick of Time." As I said before, these tracks are strong with their guitar licks, but have really awful chorus.Stand-outs include: "Heatseeker," "That's the Way I Wanna Rock N' Roll," "Meanstreak,"(my fav), "Kissin Dynamite," and "This Means War."
