Customer Reviews:
The beginning for Toronto's underdog trio.......2006-10-02
Sea of Green's debut EP contains six tracks of near-perfect musical expression which blaze a trail into territory seldom explored by many rock acts today. All of the tracks will most likely leave some kind of unique mark in the listener's mind, whether it be from a surprisingly well-constructed main riff ("Look to the Sky") or a powerfully meandering vocal delivery ("If You Want My Soul"). With all their talk of magic rides and making it rain, Sea of Green may sometimes sound as if they're pining for the soul and lyrical ambition of the 1970's, but they do it far more convincingly than other nostalgic contemporaries like Wolfmother and Jet.
Sea of Green is a really great sounding band.......2003-09-06
for the everyday rocker. I recently was turned on to this CD by a friend. I've listened to the cd Northern Light's for about a week and am inpressed. They're a 3 piece band that is pretty tight and have a great vocalist. I hope to hear more of their music in the near future. THIS IS A BUY!
a cocktail of heavy rock, melody and grunge.......2000-10-05
SOG are one of the few heavy rock/stoner rock bands from Canada and they debuted with this fine 6-track CD. This trio listened a lot to zeppelin, sabbath and the beatles. so they definetley don't win a prize in the original department, but what the hell the songs are well performed, the vocals sound good and the production is smoothly done by nick blagona (the tea party). if you like your stoner more heavy/fuzzy/doomy it won't tear you apart. otherwise if you're into more melodic mainstream rock, you maybe would dig this. Next year they'll release a full cd and then we'll talk again.
