Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars The sound of a new generation of nyc hardcore bands.......2004-02-12

The fool from strong island must move on and not live in the past, gorilla biscuits and warzone are gone,so that is why these bands are here, its called progress, not every band is supposed to sound like the previous ones that came before, these bands all have sounds of their own.Every kind of music goes through changes,if things stays the same the music would sound bland and boring so forget that moron and get this if you are a fan of hardcore music and want to hear this generations underground sound

p.s(youth of today sucked ass, they were not considered hardcore, but more straight edged punk, and gorilla bisquits were also considered hadcore "punk"and that sound is weak and sucks ass, also the nyc scene in the late 80's sucked,it was too punkish and had no hard or heavy edge._

1 out of 5 stars Weak.......2002-03-09

Bland attempt by 3rd generation New York (area) moshcore bands to duplicate the magic of the late 1980's NYC hardcore scene. While the new school bands on "New York's Hardest" desperately sought to establish themselves as being just as raw and rough as their forefathers (bands like Warzone, Youth of Today, Breakdown, Gorilla Biscuits) the end result was a whole musical scene devoid of inspiration, ANY originality or sense of direction. What you get with "New York's Hardest" are bands trying really, really hard to sound tough and angry, but without the originality, desperate fury or street credibility of the bands that spawned the earlier NYC hardcore scene. Spend your money on one of the earlier NYC hardcore compilations like "Where the Wild Things Are" or "The Way It Is".
