Customer Reviews:
Excellant!.......2002-11-16
This is a great Live Album by DIO. Many classic songs and Tracy Gold on guitar is everything he was raved to be. This is a truly "LIVE" recording. I listen to the damn CD's at least three times weekly. IT ROCKS!
disappointing.......2002-11-06
Obviously, there are some great songs on this album, but it suffers from being played as a 90's heavy metal album ie senseless drumming, over the top bass and poor lead, rather than incorporating the class of 70's stadium rock from where much of the music came from.
Top Notch!!!.......2001-10-21
This is such a great album, im so glad Dio finally made a live one. The band is top notch, Larry Denninson is excellent, Vinny Appice always incredible the drum solo is really cool. Tracy G does a great job yet doing the solos he does his own thing yet its still awesome to listen too. The only thing I was dissapointed in was some of the songs, why didnt they play anything off lock up the wolves, dream evil, or sacred heart, at least even one song off each of them. I mean they played almost every song off holy diver which was fine but they shouldve played more off thr newer stuff too, dont get me wrong diver is a classic but that was like 13 yrs old at this time. They shouldve played more songs off angry machines since it was the tour, im only hearing 2. Shouldve opened the show with dont tell the kids, also should have played black, big sister and especially this is ur life that is such a beautiful song. But i still had to give this masterpiece 5 stars, i know u cant always get what u want, but they really should have at least added more songs from angry machines on here and even a couple from the other albums, still its awesome to listen too, and id recommend anyone who appreciates real music to get this classic.
electrifying heavy metal power, DIO has done it again!!!!!.......1999-10-18
I've been a fan of Ronnie James Dio's music ever since I was old enough to know what rock-n-roll music was. From the time I was 10 yrs old until now ,Dio's music is still as powerful today as the first song I heard . I don't know what is wrong with peoples music tastes today ,but as far as I'm concerned, Tracy G. is one helluva guitarist up there with Rhodes and VanHalen. This is a must album for all serious headbangers, you wont be disappointed!!!!!!!!!
Finally! Thank you, Dio!.......1999-07-17
I don't understand why people have such a big problem with Tracy G. Far from being "sloppy," he SHINES on this disc, and puts something a little different in every song. Tracy G is the most inventive and energetic guitarist ever to play with Dio, and I'm glad this disc captured his final tour with the group. Tracy makes the Sabbath tunes especially interesting with his Van Halen-esque licks. If I have a complaint about the album, it's that each disc is only about 45 minutes long. Dio can draw from a huge catalog in 3 bands, so why not fill up both discs? Aside from the length issue, all Dio fans should have this album, and it's also a good introduction to his work.
