5 out of 5 stars Squier's Definning Momment.......2006-07-18

I was 16 when this album was released. I had never heard of him before. Bands like Rush and Journey had huge hits that year (1981) with the albums "Moving Pictures" and "Escape",respectfully. But seemingly out of nowhere, this song called "The Stroke" was being played on the radio. When you're sixteen, and someone is singing "stroke me, stroke me..." it gets your attention. All of a sudden, "My Kinda Lover" was being played, and the album broke Cassey Kasum's Top Ten. This guy knew his hooks. I had to get it! As I listened to each song, not a one let me down. "Lonely Is The Night" blew me away. The second side seemed better than the hit-heavy first. However, I still find "I Need You" to be the weakest song. I played this record OUT that year. A masterpiece.
There was much anticipation about his follow up. With a second album as great as this, could he only get better? I ran out to get the follow up "Emotions In Motion" and even saw him in concert during that album's tour (the tour where he regrettably signed Def Leppard to open for him).
"Emotions" was a great follow up and i still love it today. But sadly, eventually and rather quickly, Billy faded away from the music business. Never equalling the success of his sophomore effort. I never even saw him pop up in the Rock & Roll pages. He seemed forgotten.
However, he did tour a few years ago and I saw him this summer with Ringo's all starr band. And The boy can still play!

2 out of 5 stars Boring.......2005-12-23

This cd sounds great for a while but does not wear well over time. I found myself finding too many parts from other bands.

5 out of 5 stars People Don't Know This Guy!!!.......2005-10-06

I loved every single song on this album and I am wondering how he wasn't more than an opening band. This CD has great and original songs. The guitar playing is really great and he started a guitar company! Here are my ratings for the songs.

1. In the Dark (10/10) --Great introduction to a great album

2. The Stroke (9/10) --I wasn't alive back then, but this had to be a 80's hit, right?

3. My Kinda Lover (10/10) --Not only one of his best songs, but one of my favorite songs ever.

4. You Know What I Like (10/10) --Good song after good song.

5. Too Daze Gone (10/10) --One of the best tracks here. At first i just liked it but then i re-listened to it and the lyrics started making more sense to me. I think it's a song many people can relate with.

6. Lonely is the Night (10/10) --At this point I'm wondering...Is this a best of or something???

7. Whadda You Want From Me? (7/10) --Okay, okay. Good song but definitely not the best.

8. Nobody Knows (10/10) --Sad song dedicated to John Lennon.

9. I Need You (10/10) --One of my favorite rhythms ever.

10. Don't Say No (9/10) --Good song. At this point, I think...WHY ONLY TEN SONGS!!! I NEED MORE OF THIS!!

Average song rating: (95/100) (9.5/10)
