Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars "No remorse-- no repent-- we don't care-- what it meant...".......2006-03-31

This is the absolute beginning of West Coast Metal!!! In a time when heavy music was in a strange time of transition-- Randy Rhoads was dead, Dio had left Black Sabbath, Ozzy put out a live album with Brad (cough) Gillis on guitar, Motley Crue was just heralding the era of poser, glam, etc, rock--- this album is just what we were hoping for. Something harder, something that kicked you in the f***ing face!! The first track I heard was 'Seek & Destroy'. This is what got your head bangin'! It was the first time I heard a muted low E crunch used in a 4/4 rhythm that ran for 8+ measures. (Sorry, that's guitarist talk.) Isn't it? Anyway, this album blows your head off, but not just in your typical bad attitude- I hate my parents- no one understands my 'Pepsi' soaked problems- kinda way, I mean this album opened a door that gave way to a whole new rush of ambitious, eager, angry guitarists, (the writer included) and a newborn generation of true American headbangers that paved the way for 'real metal' born of the brilliant british invasion. (Thank you Priest, Maiden and Motorhead!) YES, please own this album, and you might sound like you know half of what you're talking about.
