5 out of 5 stars Grindcore/Death Metal/Thrash.......2006-03-01

This is one band that i personally love because they combine not only the elements of grindcore and death metal, but also have the thrashy parts in the music. Another band that sorta became with the razorback records family, highlight songs on this cd are:beer guts, cobra rage, death metal attack 3,it came from beyond,NOTLD,shock waves, the dreadnaught, and white line nightmare.I reccomend this cd,and i also reccomend that if u like this band to check out other bands on the razorback records label such as: lord gore, ghoul, splatterhouse, and frightmare

5 out of 5 stars GREATEST MODERN GRIND/DEATH/THRASH METAL BAND!.......2004-06-23

Words can't explain just how great this CD, and this band are. I'll keep it simple...if you love old 80's thrash/hardcore/grindcore bands like The Accused, Carcass, Anthrax, Old Lady Drivers, Impetigo, and the more modern-era gore/horror bands like Impaled, Haemorrhage, etc, then you NEED to hear this band! If you grew up in the 80's and collected horror movies, Transformers/GI Joe action figures/toys, comic books, posters, and worshipped all the fun cartoons that would air after schoool, then this is another reason for you to enjoy ENGORGED. This band truly is the epitome of everything that's great with this twisted and FUN subgenre of metal music. Get everything you can by them, including their "Death Metal Attack 2" CD on the cult label Razorback Records!

5 out of 5 stars The Gore/Horror Thrash Cult Strikes!.......2002-06-23

Oh, the crushing power of the mighty, mighty Thrash riff...
It likely never dawned on "Rowdy" Roddy Piper that he would one day provide one of the coolest intro-samples imaginable to a brutally monstrous Metal album, but so be it. Consequently, Engorged spends the ensuing hour administering the prophetic message of that initial soundbite - and shredding your eardrums in the process. Apparently, Hell didn't want to deal with the raucous Engorged boys, so they're back - more grotesque and zombified than ever. If you're dying (pun?) for an old-school Gore-Thrash bludgeoning , however, you'll likely welcome these corpses with loving arms. What inevitably comes to mind with every listen is Anthrax (up to "Among The Living") on speed and various elements of other 80's Thrash titans. In fact, S.O.D. references are bound to happen with the first track being "March Of The Engorged", for crying out loud! But for all the many subtle (and not so subtle) tributes to the 80's, one gets the feeling that it's all in reverence and good fun. Yet don't mistake that fun-loving attitude for their modus operandi; they definitely take their Thrash with a mega-ton of dead-seriousness and dead-accuracy.
There's undoubtedly a growing clan of riff-worshipping Thrash bands these days (who nod respectfully to Slayer, early Metallica, Kreator, etc. yet keep their output fresh instead of sounding like 80's retro), and in my opinion that's a REALLY good thing. Engorged seem to be intent on running at the forefront of this wave along with the onslaught of European bands that focus more on memorable Thrash SONGS (like The Haunted, Dew Scented, etc...) than making ludicrous noise for the sake of it. And kudos for the "Night Of The Living Dead" // "Dawn Of The Dead" // "Day Of The Dead" Trilogy!!! Even after listening to this disk almost every day for over a month, I still find myself closing my eyes and banging my head a bit - a good sign, in my book!
