Customer Reviews:
A classic album that no one talks about.......2005-07-04
It still amazes me that a large number of people in the metal community are unfamiliar with this band and this album. Dead Blue Sky combine serene, classical-sounding guitar work and mix this with grim but somehow bouncy black metal that never stops rocking. I would recommend this to fans of ulver, craft, immortal......It's along those lines but has more focus on musicianship and song structure. Another thing that sets this album apart from a lot of black metal is the use of both scratchy and clean vocals. The clean is done in a falsetto style that works way more than you would expect, and the black metal vocals are standard and trustworthy. If you want a treasure, get this.
So good you can listen forever.......2004-10-04
This is one of the best metal albums I have heard in my entire life. The only track that doesn't blow me away is the title track, an instrumental. But this is to be expected, its more of an outro. Every real song on this cd is simply and utterly amazing. Insanely complex, with great melody and always something catchy being played. I love this band. I have an unreleased track they were working on before they broke up and a live recording of six songs from this album. And let me tell you, this is not one of those studio bands. They are amazing even live. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this album, and thats not just based on the blind love for the band. Literally, I can't pick out anything Dead Blue Sky could have done better. Simply, and utterly, amazing.
Best Cd Ive Ever Heard.......2004-04-08
This is one of the best bands ive ever heard. The sound is great. The guitars are awsome and the drums are really exelent too. The singers voice is outstanding
In a word, WOW!.......2003-01-21
I normally don't write reviews, but I have to in this case. What is there to say that hasn't already been said? This band is PHENOMENAL! Every song on this album is intricate as hell and also brutal while containing the perfect amount of melody to make every song catchy. The songs will stick in your head and you'll listen to it over, and over, and over again. Definitely the best album of 2001(when it was released) and quite possibly one of the best, if not the best, metal albums of all time. Not a flaw to be found!
I'm Speechless.......2002-06-29
The most intense mixture of metal, hardcore, screamo, and emocore ever made. Both guitar's in this band are some of the most creative. Creating there two parts that always mix together to make the craziest, melodic, parts ever. Also, a touch of keyboard to throw it all together. You can tell they put everything they have into everyone of there songs and it leaves me just listening in aw. Simply Amazing!
