Another compilation.......2001-06-10
This 16-track "best of" spans the band's career up to the "Once Upon A..." album, but contains a questionable choice of material. Here's a quick run down of what's included:
From singles-only tracks, "Push Push(live)", "Shake Me(live)" and "Move Over"; from NIGHT SONGS comes "Once Around The Ride"; from LONG COLD WINTER "Fire And Ice", "The Last Mile" and "Coming Home". HEARTBREAK STATION is represented by "Make Your Own Way", "Sick For The Cure" and "One For Rock N Roll". STILL CLIMBING gets most of the attention through "Blood From A Stone", "Hot And Bothered", "Freewheelin'", "Through The Rain" and "When It All Comes Down"; the compilation ONCE UPON A... has "War Stories" lifted from it.
I was disappointed by the selection, but that's just an opinion among others. Different people prefer various tracks, and I guess you can't please everybody. Still, good energy and enthusiasm, a fair introduction if you're new to their brand of straight-ahead rock...
