Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Brutal Simple Death Metal That Delivers.......2001-12-04

It's simple as this; Krabathor fails to disappoint. They don't promise anything new and groundbreaking really, and this is basically as simple and brutal as death metal gets. But it's all there; the head thrashing riffs, the pounding drums, the actually audible bass, and the hungry vulpine (wolf-like) vocals. There are even small little technical solos in there thrown in for good measure. It all fits together perfectly, as this whole album is a great thrasing experience. In fact, unlike a lot of death metal bands, the songs are different from each other and a good amount of variation is used, as in a few different types of drum rhythms and that sort of thing. No song will disappoint. For those looking for progressive type death metal this album might be too simplistic - there are no time signature changes, keyboard, acoustic guitar, etc. However, fellow metalheads will understand when I say that sometimes you just need head pounding thrashing music that delivers.

My favorite tracks are all of them. If I had to choose the best I'd say Orthodox (for it's pure heaviness) and About Death for it's great riffs. If you enjoyed the fun thrashiness of Entombed's first two albums, you probably will like this (but it's not too similar to Entombed's sound, just the mood is like it).
