Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars Nothing Special but it's ok.......2006-01-20

Typical Hammerfall like power metal, it's decent but it's nothing to kill anyone or anything over.

5 out of 5 stars BUy it........2005-08-26

These guys deserve it with the amazing metal these guys produce. These guys will have you head banging like a damn jack rabbit on fire thats about to get hit by a semi and eaten by vultures.
Insanitys Fall is awesome and so is A Rise To power.

5 out of 5 stars Up the Irons!.......2004-05-27

I found this band on a random buy, it had a little sticker on the packaging that said "An Australian Speed-Power-Metal band" Since I'm a sucker for anything Heavy Metal, I picked it up not knowing what to expect. This band sounds like a combonation of alot of the greats like Iron Maiden, Helloween, Iced Earth, and Primal Fear. This band has excellent musicianship, with fast slaughtering Heavy-Metal, one merciless double bass attack after the other, sparkling riffs, sensational guitar duels and outstanding solo's. It's vocals done by Lord Tim are nice and clean sounding, similiar to Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickson, or Hammerfall's Joacim Cans. This is the bands third production, with other albums such as "Demonlition" (Which was just supposed to be a demo that sold over 5,000 copies) their second "Resurrection," and finally the one you are reading about now "A Rise to Power" which is the only available album that I know of. There are many great Heavy Metal bands from this record company (Limb-Music) Go to their website at www.limb-music.com to find many other great bands that are available.

5 out of 5 stars Aussie Powerslave.......2004-03-01

All 3 (well known) Aussie Powermetal bands (Dungeon, Vanishing Point, Black Majesty) are all brilliant,
Dungeon is the best.... extremely fast and brutal powermetal. A must have!

4 out of 5 stars Quality Power Metal from down under.......2003-10-18

This release doesn't make any excuses... it is FULL ON Speed/Power Metal.

The highlights include the large choruses (not just gang vox, but rich harmonies), a killer drummer and a ridiculously fast & tasty guitarist (there may me 2 for all I know, I haven't looked at the liner notes very closely). They even cover a Queensryche tune for a bonus "hidden" track.

What makes or breaks a band like this for me is usually the vocalist. I have a hard time with some singers in this genre because their voice can get too thin in their respective upper-registers. Thankfully, this is not the case for Dungeon. The vox are strong & clean, but not "too perfect."

If you are into Rhapsody, Hammerfall, Stratovarius or Dream Evil type Power Metal and are looking for a new flavor this CD should suit just fine.
