Made & Encapsulated for Radio in the Late 80's...and Re-released.......2007-01-31
Despite the large amount of mixing and the gratuitous use of sound effects, this is a surprisingly good CD. It is clearly the most "pop" that Krokus ever was (and hopefully ever will be).
One highlight is the remake of Winning Man, which is a good twist on the original. On the opposite end, Bad, Bad Girl is probably my least favorite song on here. It's a ballad and it's basically just ok.
The band made good use of contrast with songs such as "Everybody Rocks" & Speed Up." Both start out rather ambiguously, but come in strong and continue to be throughout.
Axx Attack has a good riff, a good tempo, and is lyrically solid as it speaks against war.
The other tracks talk about the typical 80's rock scene as they get into women and Rock 'n' Roll.
As a long time Krokus fan, it's easy to say that this CD is not entirely who they really are. The cover is even different, as the standard written Krokus logo was "redone for the late 80's."
The re-released version of this CD from 2002 is probably easier to get a hold of than the orignal release from 1988. Some of it's enjoyable music and some of it's just amusing.
Fans of this band should still be able to appreciate it for what it is. After all, it's still Krokus, which is still better than a lot of other stuff that's out there now. Happy listening!
Good Ol' 80's Hair Metal.......2004-04-09
This album is nothing specatacular but i gave it 5 starts becuase all the songs make me smile and puts some humor in me. I love the super high vocals, its good stuff!!!! hahaha
Time typical MTV-Metal.......2003-05-08
This is a very mediocre Krokus effort. Even `tho it's not awful, it sure lack inspiration and enthusiasm. The songs are kind of a blue print for heavy metal without heart and soul. I like "Wild love", but the rest of the material is nothing to be excited about. I believe this record came out in 1987 and that might explain a lot. Maybe the guys in Krokus thought they were doing the right thing (you gotta make a living, right?) but with hindsight it's obvious that time haven't been kind to this album, like so many from the same era. Mostly for dedicated Krokus fans or lovers of what can be described as MTV-metal in the shape of Winger and Ratt.
