Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Great variety, excellent CD.......2003-03-13

How do you pick out your set list when you have as much material to choose from as Dirkschneider does? I have no idea, but he did a great job for this CD. These are 25 killer tunes (the drum solo does not really count). I especially like some of the old Accept stuff like Midnight Highway, Run if You Can, and I'm a Rebel. These sound even better live than they do on the studio CDs. He picked some of my favorite UDO stuff too, like Heart of Gold and Cut Me Out. Odd that he did not include Balls to the Wall, one of Accept's best known tunes. None the less this is an outstanding song selection and the band sounds great. The extended guitar break in Living on a Frontline adds a cool extra feel as the crowd sings along and I love the guitar intro on They Want War. All in all I highly recommend this one, I've listened to it dozens of times and it still finds its way into my CD player almost every day.

5 out of 5 stars Definitely one of THE best ever live metal albums.......2002-11-29

U.D.O.'s "Live From Russia" is definitely one of THE best ever live metal albums. Being a long time Accept fan I was pleased that this CD contains a lot of my old Accept favorites/classics as well as a great selection of U.D.O. material. It is much better than the live double Accept album "The Final Chapter" and contains so many great songs that it is hard to pick out highlights. The production is fantastic, the guitar work is excellent, and the drums & bass really pump.
Udo's voice is in fine form. It's a voice you either love or hate, but I love it. My only disappoint with this album is that because my wife hates Udo's voice I can't play this CD unless she's not around (because it MUST be played REAL loud for maximum enjoyment). Hmmm...I gues I better figure out how to get her out of the house more!

5 out of 5 stars EXCELLANTLY PRODUCED LIVE ALBUM.......2002-07-01

This cd really kicks some butt. I was amazed at how well it sounded that really 5 stars is not enough. I had the golden opportunity to see UDO open up for SAXON about a year and a half ago and was amazed at how ell he still sounded, the same goes for this cd. The songs go all the way back to ACCEPT days, with songs I have always wanted to hear on a live album. The cd contains a few tracks from the underrated "RUSSIAN ROULLETTE" album and all the way through to the "HOLY" album. Any fan to Metal is a friend to this cd. For any one that enjoys listening to UDO but has never heard of Accept (GET A LIFE), then this is probably a good starter to give you a feel of what to expect from Accept. However, enough with the Accept push, this cd contains great guitar work from Stefan Kauffman and Igor Gianola, excellant bass work from Fitty Wienhold, and marvelous drumming by Lorenzo Milani. I don't need to say anything about Udo's voice as it still sound like it was 1983 and you are listening to "Restless & Wild". I can't think of anything bad to say about this album, therefore, it is a must have.

5 out of 5 stars KILLER METAL FROM A METAL GOD.......2001-11-20

I've been a fan of ACCEPT/UDO since 83 and MR UDO still amazes me after all of these years, the man is pushing fifty yet he still rocks harder than anyone else. His voice is perfect for metal.LIVE FROM RUSSIA is the newest release and is just another example of his sheer power. One killer song after another from his band and old ACCEPT songs. The power of this band live is the way metal was meant to be.If you get a chance to see them live do it.This album is a must from the fast songs to the ballads the songs pack a punch that show the greatness of the man and his band.

5 out of 5 stars Another great release from Udo.......2001-10-24

I've had my advance copy for about 2 weeks now and don't want to take it out of my cd player! This cd set captures the true power and musicianship of u.d.o. at their best. I recommend this cd to anyone who is an u.d.o., accept, saxon, metal fan. It is awesome! You will not be sorry.
