Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Venomous Death Metal from Brazil........2006-05-06

This was my intro to Krisiun. And what an introduction. Double bass the speed up there near Pete Sandoval land (drummer for Morbid Angel), killer riffs that could cutt through steel, and brutal vocals in the tradition of Glen Benton from Deicide. There's not one track on here that didn't shred the skin from my body. The sound production on this? I've heard some say the bass drums sounded like they were hitting leather or something like that ... I thought it was a different sound, but a heavy one that I liked. Get all of Krisiun in your CD rack: they never fail to deliver the goods.

SpacegrassMan.

2 out of 5 stars Step back from Conquerors --- 2 1/2 Stars.......2006-01-23

High expectations usually deliver disapointing results. After Conquorers of Armageddon, I was excited to see what Krisiun would do next. Ageless Venemous starts off with Perpetuation and after about 2 minutes it seems like a parody of what Krisiun sounds like. This is not because of the song itself, but because of the production on the album. The same Krisiun elements are there: super-fast drumming, fast guitars... fast everything, but I feel that this album is overproduced and the drum sound sucks.

I've read an interview with Krisiun where they even admit that they tried to make the sound too "clean". Granted, there are some good songs (Sephuchral Oath is an amazing song) but the album does not live up to previous Krisiun albums. With that being said, I enjoy Krisiun, and if you have a chance to see them live, it is worth it.

3 out of 5 stars clickety clack.......2004-08-18

The reason why the drums sound so f'd-up is that they are triggered and mixed horribly. In an attempt to gain clarity on what is truly exceptional speed, they tried to avoid a muddy result (see Morbid Angel's "Covenant" album). Yet, I can't help but feel that this album is so overproduced that they have lost the intensity. "Conquerers of Armageddon" was equally as fast -- still triggered -- but not overdone; a far superior and more intense album. All in all, though, the songwriting has improved and many of the songs are simply mindcrushing. It's too bad that the great musicianship is ruined by the rat-a-tat-tat of the drums.

5 out of 5 stars Morbid angel, learn how to play please!.......2004-06-16

Krisiun should teach morbid angel how to play their instruments right...Anyways, Masters of brutally from brazil right here! Krisiun owns! Buy any of krisiun's albums and throw all of your morbid angels albums on the trash can please!!

5 out of 5 stars wowzers! brazilian death metal!.......2003-09-20

If you are looking to get into this INCREDIBLE brazilian death metal band well then, look elsewhere! hehehe...although this is my favorite krisiun album I don't think it is their most accesible mostly because the way the drums are mixed, they are just mixed kind of weird on the album but it sounds pretty sweet anyway, well yeah this is an INCREDIBLE album though and it features my favorite krisiun song saviours blood! so yeah get conquerers of armagedon and then get this.
