Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars don't miss that one.......2006-09-10

This album didn't have the success it earns.
Many people thought "it's an ersatz of living colour". it's not.
It's a great album by a great singer proving what he can do outside living colour.
don't miss it.

5 out of 5 stars thought I would give recognition where its due!!!!.......2006-08-28

Its now late 2006, I has a teenager when Living Colour brought out they debut album, I remember jumping around on the couch playing air guitar having no real knowledge of what was gr8 music but I quickly became a fan of these guys & have been a fan ever since!!! I really enjoyed the music but mainly for the voice of Corey Glover & when i discovered he had brought out a solo album, I knew it would be gold, but with many albums you have high expectations of they usually dont get close to what you perceived, but I was blown away by how Corey took his music to another level, no not to another level he lept over it with ease because this album is extradinary, magical & beautiful. I still havent put this album away to collect dust, its great even to this day, why arent you guys picking it up!!!!!, you wont be dissapointed. Corey Glover, Living Colour Forever!!!!

5 out of 5 stars SINGERS S--I--N--G; CRITICS CRITICIZE.......2005-05-03

Never listen to a critic; listen to your fellow music lovers. The first time I found "Hymns" I passed it by. Don't make that mistake. If you love Corey Glover, and I know you do, you'll love "Hymns." I know what you'll be saying after you hear it, so I'll say "you're welcome" now.

5 out of 5 stars Don't Judge A Book..........2003-12-13

Let's be honest, if you're reading this review you either loved Living Colour and are only now seeking outside sources for your addiction, OR someone has finally given you the "hey there's a band out there that you have GOT to try" tip. So how does this one (and unfortunately only) Corey solo pan out? Well, if you loved Living Colour you will at the very least be satisfied to hear Corey's voice on something familiar. For the artists among us, this is an AMAZING show of talent that showcases Corey's background influences and vocal/stylistic range. You WILL find a song on this cd that touches you. It's a must buy.

5 out of 5 stars Simply Stated: "Awesome".......2003-10-08

"Hymns" has to be the most underrated, seldom played masterpiece to be released in the last decade. Making what I initially thought to be a risky purchase turned out to be an awesome investment. How this album existed for five years without becoming a part of my collection still amazes me. Corey Glover covers styles presented by everyone from Sammy Hagar to Al Green, every genre from Heavy Metal to Gospel. The performances are laced with clarity and simply awesome. For the true musician, for the true artist, for those who listen for something different that still qualifies as great music, you have a date with destiny and his name is Corey Glover.
