4 out of 5 stars Great American BM from Michigan.......2003-08-26

Baptized by Fire is my second Summon album. Necromodeus & crew play some fast, heavy, Blackmetal with Satanic lyrics. This cd is well produced by Killjoy and Baphomet records. The only minus about the album is the vocals by Necromodeus, they need to improve. If they do, watch out for Summon in the future. Summon are kind of like the American Mayhem, in a way. Anyway, a worthwhile purchase for any BM fan out there.

5 out of 5 stars summon forth the metal masses for this one!.......2003-07-05

man this is great music to bang your head to.if you love scandinavian black metal then heres your american answer to that.summon are definitely here to make a mark in the staes as the first american black metal band.awsome riffs great vocals, every song is killer murder music i swear it makes hella psycho litening to this soundtrack of my insanity.buy it now if you are looking for something brutal and memorable.

4 out of 5 stars Praise be!.......2001-02-21

Praise be the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY that Americans are FINALLY snapping out of their obsession with Death Metal and igniting a Black Metal blaze here in the US! Summon's 'Baptized by Fire' is an excellent example of this, taking all the proper elements of this noble form of music and constructing an excellent piece of art. This is good enough to stand with any Slechtvalk or Dark Funeral album and if other US bands follow this lead, we are in good shape. Bands like Summon (dopey Satanic lyrics aside) bode very well for the States...

4 out of 5 stars Summoning of Infernal Legions.......2000-06-29

I am listening to this CD right now, and this is some hideous stuff! Great black/death metal, It's aggressive, and violent, as all metal should be played! There is plenty of guitar work here, the solos, are of course, over the top. The warhammers are killer, the only thing that needs improvement here is definitely the vocals. The vocals are very boring, and sometimes get a bit annoying. But.. that is my ONLY complaint, everything else is killing! The packaging is also very killer as well, it's proudly Satanic, with some inferno art-work! Personal fave tracks - The Silence of Chaos, Burning Black Desire, Sons of Wrath... Get this along with Thornspawn's 'Blood of The holy...' album, and the upcomming ANTAEUS release!

5 out of 5 stars One of the best U.S. B.M. bands........2000-05-02

If you are tired of the Scandinavian B.M. sound, Summon is one band that sounds fresh but they have that dark, brutal, old school feel to their music. I just got a bittired of listening to those bands in Europe. Personally, U.S. Black Metal has become a force to be reckoned with. I like the entire album from beginning to end, it is very evil something true B.M. fans will appreciate. Cradle of crap and Dimey Boogir fans keep away from this album as it might scare you off. Truly a must have album!
