Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars "Tierra de Leyendas" a formidable outing for a great band .......2006-03-07

Tierra de Leyendas has many outstanding tracks. Most notably, "La Torre de Babel," "Sodoma y Gomora," and "La leyenda del Momia." Unfortunately, Tierra Santa's last efforts truly fall short of the band's potential. If Tierra Santa wanted to leave an untarnished and self-respecting legacy in the music world, Tierra de Leyendas should have been their last album. P.S: Tierra Santa falls way short of Iron Maiden.

5 out of 5 stars AWSOME ALBUM.......2004-07-21

This album is By far a classic of spanish metal/hard rock, i completly disagree with the review of jaimita-jeremy here saying that they havent really sparked as much as rhapsody, obviously must be because 1. your not spanish 2. you have no idea the tension it has aroused in US spanish people here and around the WOrld 3. you have no idea what impact it has done in spain spesifically. Then you draw YOUR conclusions, anyways- To point out too that these guys have a very similar sound to IRON MAIDEN -and not Rhapsody- wich by the way is their impact and favorite band. THe Solos are unmatched, perfect sound and drums and rythime play together so nicely. I think that what really stands out of this band is the solos. Definatly not rhapsody. Not a speed metal or power metal band. But a Gem if you take the time and listen. Any how i recomend this album cuz is one of the best though they are all good.
IRON MAIDEN THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(would also recomend RATA BLANCA)!!

3 out of 5 stars likeable but not earth shaterring.......2004-02-11

With the long anticipated "Lord of the Rings" film just around the corner (the trailer made more of a buzz at Cannes this year than any of the films), expect many more of these fantasy based metal bands to spring out of the woodwork. Just don't expect many of them to speak Spanish. Tierra Santa do exactly that, which actually makes the familiar sounding material a bit less mundane. The lack of uniqueness can probably be attributed to both the reliance of tradition in this musical format as well as the isolated power metal scene in Spain. While there may be a fervent scene for the locals to fuss over, on an international basis I can't think of a single prog band from these parts that's well known around the world. Ultimately Tierra Santa's Latin heritage works in their favor, as vocalist Angel isn't blessed with an extraordinary set of pipes, instead relying on sheer passion and many, many rolled r's to accomplish his task. This all falls just shy of top notch, really. The instrumentals in particular are way above par for this style of music and do just as much to set the tone as the dramatic singing. Obvious veterans with three albums already under their belts, Tierra Santa have the capability of breaking the doors wide open for their geographic peers, though they're unlikely to set the world afire the way Rhapsody did a few years ago.
