Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Old School Black/Thrash metal.......2002-10-11

This is one of the bands that helped make Blackmetal what it istoday. Euronymous of Mayhem likedSacofago because of the spikes andcorpsepaint that are typical of many BM bands today. The songs areall dripping with evilness and never get old. These guys are still around today and hopefully they will release a new album soon.

5 out of 5 stars Sarcofago's brutal, classic debut!!!.......2002-04-17

Back in the mid 80's, South America had one of the most promising Thrash/Death/Black metal scenes in the world. With promising acts such as Vulcano, Mutilator, Holocausto, Pentagram, Sepultura, and the brutal Sarcofago. Sarcofago were the leaders of the scene with their blasphemous "INRI" debut album. Light-years ahead of it's time it would go on to provide the basic blueprint for modern day Black Metal. This was released back in '86, it was and still is today ahead of it's time. Nobody ever made something as Extreme as this. Venom, Bathory, and may be Mercyful Fate had their 15 minutes of shock galore, but Sarcofago still remains, and are still around making more hate-filled music... If you thought Norwegin Black Metal was as ugly as you could get, think again. Sarcofago will rip your mind apart.

5 out of 5 stars Idiot savant music of the highest power.......2001-12-21

Unsteady musicianship, an abrasive aesthetic and deliberately disturbed absurdist lyrics and image guide this album of savagely primal raw black metal which periodically, five years before anyone else could do it, breaks into surging melody within otherwise acerbic riffing. This influenced Beherit and other bands in Northern Europe who applied the ideas of style here to the second generation of European black metal, and the rest is history. Standout tracks are "The Black Vomit" and "I.N.R.I."

5 out of 5 stars Absolutely essential!.......2001-08-13

Sarcofago play ultra raw, barbaric black thrash metal!! This is the album that is responsible for bands like beherit, black witchery, blasphemy, ect ect.. pretty much inspired the 2nd wave of black metal (1st being venom, bathory, ect) It's really hard to pick the highlights here since the whole album is one.. an absolute classic that no one should be w/ out! The drum sound is the best i've heard, sounding like mechanical at times, comes forth ripping! Riffs : are crazy ranging from crushing mid-paced to fast.. vocals : sick, sick.. sick!! Death grunts mixed w/ insane shrieking is what W. antichrist spews forth.. sure to give ya a few goosebumps, the heavy brazilian accent really adds to the nastiness as well. All in all, a totally killer album! Cheers to S A R C O F A G O!!

5 out of 5 stars THE Best BLACK METAL Period.......1999-10-02

I first heard Sarcofago Way back in 89, A friend Had a tape of Recording that some one did A tape trade in Brazil, we were Huge Posessed Fans along with Exodus And when we heard this album we were Blown AWAY! I didn't see a picture of them until some Underground Mag had some Pics. man it was exactly what we were looking for, They have inspired a Whole Genre of music, Called BLACK METAL , but they in turn were Inspired by KISS Venom, Bathory and so on but they Took it to the Extreme!!, HAIL SARCOFAGO!!!
