5 out of 5 stars Re-recording of early Ogre/Al Jourgensen project........2006-03-25

Acronym for When Everyone Learns the Truth, this was the second collaboration between Al Jourgensen and Ogre, with Michael Balch, in the late '80s. It was talked about more than it was created, since they both were unfortunately getting deeper into hard drugs.
They never released any material, though one song was mixed and performed in the studio haphazardly ("Noreen"). The song somehow made its way on some Skinny Puppy bootlegs, and can be heard in its rawness in that form to this day. In 1995, Al retitled and remixed the track with additional instruments to "The Fall", and included it on the FILTH PIG album.
During the mid-to-late '90s, Ogre wanted to continue the project, sans Al, with Mark Walk, and release an album under the W.E.L.T. name on American Records. Due to poor contractual agreements, the project was shelved for almost five years, and whatever material and rights the duo signed away were property of American. When the rights came back to Ogre to re-record and release material under the name in 1999, Ogre jumped at the chance. When the mixes were completed and Ogre tried to release the material under the W.E.L.T. name, he was denied since another group was already named Welt. So in late 2000/early 2001, the group was re-named ohGr, and released this album entitled WELT in February of 2001.

4 out of 5 stars Awesome CD!!!!!.......2005-04-24

This is really cool stuff, childlike-almost industrial music. Music that doesn't seem to be fully serious. Love ohGr's stuff alone and with KMFDM, and what I have heard of Skinny Puppy. I only gave it four stars because it is a short CD. Other than this minor letback, the CD is definately worth getting.

5 out of 5 stars Ohgr - Welt.......2003-05-16

I have never been the same after listening to Welt. What a great album. There is a good mix of hard industrial and techno. I hate to use that word "industrial", it is not fair to lable this album. It covers an array of beats and melodies. With every album Ohgr release things just get better. Great songs like: Solow, Cracker, and Kettle. There is no way you can go bad with this cd. A must buy for anyone, espicially those who listen to KMFDM, Nine Inch Nails, Skinny Puppy, Front 242.

5 out of 5 stars it took me a while.......2002-07-04

I have always liked Ogre's voice, and I think OhGr has given him the opportunity to explore his poetic inclinations. Mark Walk has woven a nice trapesty of sound to back him up.

It took me a while to absorb this cd. Right now, I'm liking Chaos and Minus quite a bit. Minus is absolutely perfect cranked up in the car.

I've seen this cd in both cardboard and a plastic jewelbox, and I don't know why. Nice job, Nivek and Mark.

5 out of 5 stars Nivek Ogre and co. still have it...........2002-04-28

Bought the Ohgr 'Welt' CD finally after months of searching for it. My money was well spent and the long wait was worth it. So awesome. Industrial dance beats that no one can be indifferent to. I can't say enough about it, nor can I find the words to fully describe it. Buy it. You won't be disappointed.
