Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars This album is a must have.......2006-08-08

The first time I heard Rat Race I was hooked. I bought the cassette the next day. I have since replaced it on CD and still listen to it often to this day. I had the pleasure of seeing them live in STL and they were great. It was such a disappointment when they broke up. I think they really had promise.

5 out of 5 stars True Blue Collar Gem.......2005-11-12

This Baltimore band never got their full due. This album is solid from top to bottom. "Wind", My Bottle", and "Evicted" are great songs. "Good Ol' Rock and Roll" is a decent opening song. They may never have made a second album, but "Rat Race" comes in first place in my book.

5 out of 5 stars Child's play Great Rock -n- Roll at its best.......2005-09-26

Child's Play Rat Race what rock-n Roll is all about Play it Loud -n- Proud .

3 out of 5 stars a decent party rock album.......2004-05-24

I'm sure the other reviewers of this album have fond memories of the band, but this CD is really nothing special. That's not to say it isn't a decent rock album, but it isn't exceptional by any means. It follows the basic sleaze-rock/hair metal formula laid down by bands like L.A. Guns and Faster Pussycat, with lots of bluesy rockers and the occasional ballad. The lyrics are pretty basic, and focus on drinking, partying, and sex. Child's Play may not bring anything new to the genre, but their debut album is still a fun listen. If you like your rock loud, sleazy, and essentially devoid of anything meaningful, then Rat Race is an album worth picking up.

5 out of 5 stars album defines baltimore hard rock scene - early '90s.......2003-06-14

When I first heard these guys on 98Rock and DC101 I knew I had to have this album. I left the b'more-d.c area in '93 and now in CA, 13 years after it came out, I'm stoked to finally have it. This is kick-bum blue-collar drinkin' music at it's best. This is a must have. I give 5 stars because the most memorable songs stayed fresh after all this time. I wish there were more of it around.
