Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Very good industrial metal.......2007-01-07

This album has a bleak sound to it, and somewhat sounds like a cross between their older albums and the newer sound of Cypher. Actually, it's not very much like their older stuff; it's more similar to Cypher.

Overall, this album is great. If you like Cypher, you'll like this.

4 out of 5 stars Not bad, but older stuff is better!.......2006-12-24

The first time I heard "Tears Have No Name" I said to myself that I HAD to get the album. I'm not a huge fan of electronic/industrial metal, so this is one of the few times I make an execption. It's weird because some songs are total electronic or industial sounding, while others are more leaning toward black metal...sometimes this happens in the same song! They never really have a consistant mix of industial black metal, but more of a electro part with cathcy keyboard sounds then a black metal part complete with blastbeats and such. If your looking for something with less of the techo stuff and more melodic black metal check out their other album Dynamic Gallery of Thoughts. Anyone familiar with this cd or any early AND OCEANS material will agree that its more black metal sounding than their more recent stuff. The keys in Dynamic Gallery of Thoughts are used more to add an athmospheric touch to the songs rather then melody and catchiness in this cd. But overall if you dont mind elecronic elements incorperated into your metal...this is the album for you! Buy it! You will love it. As for me, I perfer the older stuff.

5 out of 5 stars ...And Oceans Flat Out RAWK!.......2006-02-06

The futuristic vibe they get on this album is outstanding. Intelligence is Sexy is a great song, so is Tears Have No Name and Espirit De Corps is outstanding. Every other song is very solid. The vocals have this vibe that no other band creates, the vocals are nearly alien in nature. If you like metal songs that get into a groove and keep it buy this album. They are kind of, in a weird way, an actualized Voivod for the new century.

5 out of 5 stars finnish metal.......2004-02-10

look if you have any interest in metal in general this album with please you. Tears Have No Name is by far the stand-out track but the rest is equally superior to your common metal band. they have raw talent and orginallity they put to good work on this album. The vocals don't just growl, he has his melodic moments with is a good change of pace, seeing how metal seems to follow In Flames down that road. Overall 5/5, worth every cent.

3 out of 5 stars Very original band........2004-02-09

I heard "Tears Have No Name," and thought it was a very badass track, so I decided to buy the album. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the rest of the record. It definitely has its moments (The beginning riffs of "Intelligence is Sexy" comes to mind), but it just was not 100% to my liking. However, that is just because I am not really a black metal fan. I've been trying to explore more into the genre, and I enjoy some things here and there (The aforementioned THNN), but as a whole, I just can't seem to get into it.

Anyway, if you are looking for something original, check this band out. it is definitely not your typical black metal band.
