Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Shockingly VERY well done........2006-02-20

Ace "Quorthon" Býrje Forsberg, most widely known for being the man behind Bathory, surprisingly leaps off into an entirely different direction with this really well done alternative grunge metal piece. This album was recorded in a lower-class studio with nothing but a guitar, bass and drum machine in a little bit over two weeks - yet it actually has an above-average production sound.

The songs on this album are all quality tracks with absolutely NO fillers. You can tell that Quorthon spent a good amount of time working on each track, as there is not a single second of this album that I can recall where it gets boring or doses off. What else really makes this album tick is, the vocal effects and sound samples that are thrown in sporadically. The riffs through-out this album are extremely impressive as they have a sort of mainstream, catchy, modern-rock feel to them, yet maintain very heavy and very different from each other. An honorable mention would be the nice acoustic parts and killer solos added in, too. The drums on this album are excellent. They are programmed perfectly to each riff with a good amount of fills (that don't really get TOO fancy) thrown in that really add a lot to the tracks.

I can't really prepare this album to too many artists, but if I had to, I'd say it's like a heavier Alice In Chains. And as far as fans of Bathory wanting to check out this album, I probably wouldn't suggest it without previewing it before hand since it's really nothing like Bathory, but if you're into grungy straight-up metal or want to try something new, I'd definitely recommend giving it a listen.
