This box set is a metalhead's dream come true. If you want someone to get into metal, or if you want to get into metal, buy this first. Favorite bands here are GWAR, Metallica, Slayer, Six Feet Under, and Cannibal Corpse.

this box set made my month.......2002-12-08

while this is not the end all box of metal, it does kick a great deal of arse. This set is definitely worth the [amount]. There's nothing to argue about...if you are a metalhead then you should definitely own this. Like i said, this is by no means the perfect set, but it is good, and it is cheap. Dont go buy 5 or 6 cds instead of this. this is a limited thing, and it proides quite a bit of good listening, plus exposure to bands you may not have heard.

Nine CD's, one DVD, theres alot of music on this box set. If you're a long time metalhead or you are familiar with most of these bands then I wouldn't be suprised if you have this box set already. For everybody out there who loves metal but aren't that familiar with these bands, GET THIS SET! Theres so much good music on this from people you might not hear that often (if at all). Its a great compilation of really great music, thats what it is. They only made 5,000 of these so you better get a set before it runs out.

There is a LOT of great music here, there is no argument about that. It just seems like the same hand full of bands are scattered about 9 CDs. With 20 yrs under their belt, I thought this package would be a lot more diverse.

I have nothing but good words to say about this box set. Brian and the people at Metal Blade did a great job with this. 10 discs in all, disc 10 is a DVD with live videos and some other tidbits of fun stuff. The book is killer with an interview with Lars and Brian, as well as thoughts form Metal Blade artists. Metallica's first (or second) version of "Hit The Lights" is worth the price alone. I only give it 4 out of 5 stars, only because if I was to give it 5, then this box set would have had EVERY Metal Blade cd put out.

If you bought any thing from Metal Blade in the past, then reguardless you should buy this. Cannibal Corpse, Six Feet Under and Armored Saint feature prominalty in this box, but it has alot of good stuff, no filler here (except GWAR maybe).

Get yours quick, the set is limited to 5,000 numbered copies, I have number 2008, and I pre-ordered mine in August or so RIGHT from Metal Blade.
