3 out of 5 stars Okay..........2004-04-03

Dismal Euphony did nothing new with this. Who'd ever thought of making music about being a psychopath before? That's only been done a million times over. Anyway, I heard "Days of Sodom" on one of Nuclear Blast's Beauty in Darkness compilations and thought it was terrible, but then heard the title track on Death is Just The Beginning V, and it caught my attention, particularly because of the female vocals which are not flat like most bands. That's where the good ends. First clue that it's going to be a drag is in the liner notes; generally, anything produced by Waldemar Sorychta (including Lacuna Coil) has a tendency to be boring and uninspired, aimed at a mainstream audience, and more concerned with image and being 'big, bad, and satanic' than with actually making good music. The black-vocals are awful; it sounds like he's coughing into a microphone with the reverb maxed out. The guitar style sounds like Draconian's, or to be more elaborate, a pathetic failed attempt to duplicate the Swedish melodic death metal sound. The music is dominated by the keyboards and the drumming is totally out of place. Buy this if you need a break from your death/black metal collection, but there are definitely far superior bands/albums out there.

4 out of 5 stars Kinda different from their last album, but still good........2000-06-20

I'm not really into this whole metal scene. i coulnt' tell the difference between death, doom or power metal. I like old punk but this band caught my attension. Tho it is different from their last album, the female vocals is what makes me wanna come back. no other band has that pure voice of depression. tho the lyrics could be better, I still think its worth a listen. the synth doesn't really come thru on this album, they have more emphisis on guitar. better than any other band out there, I will say that.

5 out of 5 stars Beautiful dual vocal goth/doom.......2000-04-07

I don't understand what the first guy is saying. If you like power metal you probably won't like this cd. If you are more into gothic or doom you'll love it! Haunting female vocals and tortured male vocals make this a dark masterpiece. If you are a fan of older Gathering, My Dying Bride, Theatre of Tragedy, Lacuna Coil, etc. this cd is for you! Also I would really like to recommend the band Beseech if you like any of these bands I've mentioned thus far. They are wonderful! Please buy this cd if you come across it and keep the underground alive!

3 out of 5 stars goth meets black.......2000-02-17

just as the name suggests, dismal euphony hailing from up north and inspired by balck metal sorroundings, paint a bleak musical portrait on "All Little Devils". they are a blend of pop, goth, and traditional metal

1 out of 5 stars This sucks........2000-01-08

When i bought this album i thought it would be up the alley of death metal because it was on a death metal compilation but I was way wrong. The guitars are too quiet and sound like synths. The music isnt agressive or heavy. The vocals sound a bit blacky and have some female backups. I would only recommend this to a powermetal fan but death fans STAY AWAY!
