Yep this is a great compilation alright.

In fact I agree with the other reviewers wholeheartedly, so much so in fact that I'm not going to bother writing a track by track synopsis cos it would largely repeat their words of wisdom.

What does merit saying is that Nuclear Blast are really onto a winner with this compilation stuff. The track listing is well thought out w/ a variety of bands and the sequence of the tracks has also been given some thought. Sure some of it won't be to everyones liking but that's the way with all compilations.

The only criticism is that the tunes are basically all ballads. Which is a bit of a downer. But good on NB for only having one tune per band on the disc, which means you get a good cross section.

This makes me wanna get my hands on the other titles in this series.

I think it is as good as any of the other volumes.Some interesting sounds and voices.Great to listen to while driving.If like me you are crazy on metal ballads,do not let this one slip by.Looking forward to vol.6
