5 out of 5 stars The Scorps just kept getting better.......2003-03-30

I first heard the Scorps "Fly to the Rainbow," and I knew they were going to be big. To me, the Scorpions (and the great Schenker brothers) have transcended German Rock and have conquered the world. Therein lies the superb BLACKOUT album.

I thought the song was written about me and I took 'Blackout' as my new world anthem. I deliberately poured Johnny Walker Black on the scratchy, played-out album (when I bought the CD) as a tribute to many great memories that seemed to always have Scorpions playing in the background of my life (e.g. when I woke-up from an alcoholic blackout in Frankfurt).

The Scorpions will ALWAYS be a force to reckon with; BLACKOUT being one of many great Scorpion albums, but absolutely one of their best!

5 out of 5 stars Hugely Improved Masterpiece.......2002-12-07

I'm new to the pre-Savage Amusement portion of the Scorps career, even though I've owned Rockers N Ballads and Face the Heat since 93, and then Crazy World, Savage Amusement, Live Bites, Best of the Ballads, since 95, and Pure Instinct in 96. I did have some of the old albums on LP, but never paid them much attention till recently, and decided to get these remastered cds.

The sound quality kills on this album, absolutely destroys Deadly Sting, which I recently bought off [online aution] for $... It literally jumps out at you. The fact that the band is absolutely on fire and full of energy also really helps these songs come alive.

This is probably one of the very few consistent Scorps albums. All the songs are at least good, with quite a few great ones. Cool liner notes too. Highly Recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Awsome.......2002-06-22

Everybody knows that this is a great record so i won't go on and on about the songs etc.
The main reason to get this import is that the version of China White is different. China White is one the great heavy songs by the Scorpions. When Blackout was originally released Rudolf could not decide between 2 solos for the song so put one on the US release and one on the European release. I have been waiting for this re-issue so that I could finally replace my german LP with a CD. By the way the CD sounds great and there are some cool pictures etc. in the booklet. THIS THE SCORPIONS AT THEIR PEAK.
