Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Ed Mundell uses those guitar skills........2006-07-13

What initially brought me to this band was Ed Mundell, one of the great guitar gods of space/stoner rock. And I was right to be. Plenty of excellent instrumentals and solos on this album. The vocals are quite decent as well (whenever they come around). The whole album is extremely enjoyable.

3 out of 5 stars It hurts me to say this is nothing special........2005-12-23

I listened to the cd with an open mind. It didn't and will not do anything "cosmic" for me. It's an okay cd...some cool rifts, some decent lyrics, but there is a lot missing. This cd sounds very much like the Foo Fighters experimenting with cosmic rock. Again..there are some grooves that will leave some head-bangers nodding..but I feel those of us who were raised on the late 60's and early 70's have bounced a lot of these same tunes in our head while getting ready for work, or sitting on the can waiting to get away from work. ABW's cd "3" has a much stronger and aggressive sound, but still sounds like a band that is trying too hard to relate with a people and a cause. Cosmic rock needs to be swirled, tasted, tested, swished and swashed like a wine full of unique flavors. This group and cd may be labled eccentric, but sad to say it is not.

5 out of 5 stars Yes, it rocks!.......2005-09-09

I don't get the 2 and 3 star reviews. One guy doesn't like the jams and riffage. He wants more straight forward songs. Please, these guys rock out, jam and the riffs are just awesome. Buy this, and you'll see. It's too bad bands like this never get any air play, but crap like the white stripes and these bands like coldplay sell millions.

3 out of 5 stars Not what I expected from the reviews I read.......2004-11-16

This album is not as great as everyone would have you believe. 5 stars? C'mon. It's good, it's rockin', it's groovy and all that but, the album kind of sounds like one long song to me. My favorites were the straight ahead, simpler rockin' tunes. Some of the tunes get a little too "jammy" and kind of don't go anywhere or sound a little too classic rock. They even attempt to blatantly rip off Santana on one tune. Would be better if a little heavier.

5 out of 5 stars This cd FLAT OUT ROCKS!!!.......2004-03-31

You've heard the phrase that "good music never goes out of style". Well, this cd just flat out rocks like a tidal wave. Thank God for the return of the guitar solo. Where has it been hiding in recent years? You don't hear it much in today's so-called "new rock" genre. This band is hard rock, metal, jazz and funk with a boost of high octane 104 jet fuel. I stumbled upon this cd in a Border's bookstore (of all places) in their headphone listening section for new music. Being a long time fan of metal and hard rock I found this to be a jem. For more incredible guitar solos check out BLS's latest "The Blessed Hellride" and Iron Maiden's "Dance of Death". Up the irons!
