Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars Good sound, ok songs.......2005-09-17

This CD definitely rocks. The production is good and the playing is excellent. Good heavy metal guitars and solid vocals. The songs themselves are just ok though. I liked "Paydirt" and "After me, The Flood" the best, but even these didn't stay with me that long after listening to the CD. I've listened to it multiple times through and while I enjoy the basic sound of it, the songs aren't strong enough to resonate. A day later I'm not still thinking about any of them. This is like an ambient heavy metal CD, put it on in the background while you're doing something else.

5 out of 5 stars Resurrected from the dead.......2005-01-11

When the group broke up after Symbol of Salvation in 1991 and vocalist John Bush hightailed it over to Anthrax, everyone thought the band and was dead and gone. Then, out of nowhere in 2000, the band reuinted for a tour and album. What a reunion it was as the album Revelation is spactacular. It's as if the band never broke up! Anthrax guitarist was busy with his side group S.O.D. so John Bush took the opportunity to hook up with his formor bandmates to give the fans one more Saint album. Hopefully this isn't the last from the truely underrated band!

5 out of 5 stars WHERE HAVE THESE GUYS BEEN ?????.......2003-10-02

It's a shame that the band went their separate ways many years ago before coming back with not only their best album ever, but one of the strongest rock/metal albums in many years. This is just a monster, filled with huge riffs and awesome vocals. This would bury anything that Mr. Bush has done with Anthrax, in my opinion. It's too bad they didn't come back together on a permanent basis! Having seen the accompanying tour, I can state quite strongly that the Saint is better and heavier than ever! If you love metal played the way it was meant to be played with great lyrics, killer vocals and sledgehammer type riffs, then you will FLIP over this. Pick it up- You will NOT be sorry...

5 out of 5 stars The Saint Marches On Your Nuts!.......2000-06-14

The best metal album of 2000! No Bull!

5 out of 5 stars Nine Years Later...and They're Even Better!.......2000-06-11

I, as I'm sure many others, have been waiting a long time for this CD to come out (the crowds they got on their recent tour proves it). Nine years in waiting...and beyond well worth it. The Saint's last release, Symbol of Salvation, was an amazing CD, "Reign of Fire" my favorite song of all time, and Revelation tops it. John Bush, by far, has the best voice in metal. No question. There's a reason why Metallica asked him to join the band back in the day. Blistering twin guitar riffs as well as just great overall musicianship (listen to "Upon My Departure" and you'll understand) makes this a great modern metal CD with the old school metal sound. Although this CD will gain no airplay except possibly on college radio stations and MTV, which died as far as I'm concerned when Headbangers Ball was taken off the air, will only mention it on their website, it will not disappoint the new Saint fan and will reiterate to the old Saint fan why metal is not dead, even though MTV wants it to be.
