Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Kip Winger unplugged.......2005-08-29

I heard kip performing Miles Away with just his acoustic guitar on a local radio station and he sounded great so when I heard about this cd I knew I had to have it. Kip really brings new life to all these songs that were already great to start off with. When you hear them all stripped down without all the loud guitars and pounding drums you really get a fill for what Kip Winger the Singer/Song writer is all about, it truly is an Amazing CD to listen to

5 out of 5 stars WAY UNDERRATED!! .......2005-05-17

Any one who knows anything about music would IGNORE the critics regarding anything negative about Kip Winger. They obviously don't play. Kip is a hugely talented musician. The early Winger stuff was great, but PULL is a rock masterpiece. This album is also a "must have". The new take on these songs is brilliant. Kip never ceases to amaze. Without question one of the most underrated rock artists playing today. Buy this album, you won't regret it.

5 out of 5 stars Beautiful.......2004-12-30

I don't usually write a review immediately after buying a product. But this one is different. What I want to say is, Go buy this album. Kip is awesome. An all-around great musician.

This album is live, with songs from Kip's first solo album, plus Winger tunes. High points are Miles Away, Under One Condition, Ez Come Ez Go, and Headed for a Heartbreak.

Note: Kip's voice has changed; it's not as raspy and untamed. Instead, it's polished with all the rough edges filed down. At first, I missed the old voice but soon the new one grew on me.

Finally, forget what critics say about Winger; they were a great band and didn't get enough credit for sophisticated songs and great musiscianship (in relation to other hair bands, Winger was one of the best). I don't remember a better-sounding live album than Down Icognito. Again, forget the critics. Just buy the album and listen to the music.

5 out of 5 stars Great Acoustic Album from Winger!.......2004-06-11

I was a bit weary of what this CD would sound like when I purchased it... quite frankly, it was a pleasant surprise! Kip Winger has matured and re-created the commercial Winger hits into something more interesting and moving. "Another Way" and "Spell I'm Under" are chilling! The vocals and musicianship are excellent, as are the arrangements. To me, this album is head-and-shoulders above the "Very Best of Winger" album. Check it out!

5 out of 5 stars Breathing new life into some great songs!.......2004-01-02

This is what Bon Jovi should have done with "This Left Feels Right" (which I still think STINKS- although CDuniverse wouldnt post MY review). Unlike other albums that attempt to do the same type of thing, this album succeeds in revitalizing the greatest of the bands songs. Kip's really breathed new life into these songs, while staying true to the originals. Everyone I know who's heard this album (Winger fan or not) has liked it. Dont listen to reviewers who havent even heard the album, and only judge an artist on their past, listen for yourself, I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised as I was.
