Customer Reviews:
Excellent power metal with sci-fi/fantasy theme.......2004-05-11
The two elements of this album that stand out the most are Henning Basse's awesome vocals and Chris Caffery's great guitar work. Every song on this album is excellent and they range from ballads to fast-paced power. And the melody is always right there, easy to pick up. Free Forever is my favorite song on the album. Plus two great covers of 70's classic rock songs done in a contemporary power metal sound, they sound awesome. Henning has a rad voice, but as you can see by their next album, Caffery is the reason this album sounded so damn good. Just listen to a bit of their next release and see how far the sound slipped after Caffery left. This is a one of kind album and it is the bands only good one. But it isn't just good; it's damn excellent!! In my opinion it's right up there with Savatage's In the Wake of Magellan as one of the greatest sounding power metal albums of all time. It's definately worth buying.
This CD Rocks!.......2000-04-13
It is rare these days to hear a rock CD that really deserves attention as much as this one does. I picked up this CD on a whim once I heard that Chris Caffrey from Savatage (one of my favorite bands) was the guitarist. Metalium was a pleasant surprize. Tight Guitar work, awesome double bass drumming and a Dio style vocalist with the range of Geoff Tate. I would consider Metalium power metal...it is heavy but it isnt thrash. Some of these songs can really get your blood pumping. My only recommendation is if you buy this, set your cruise control on your car...this CD will give you a lead foot. Its great for driving and it totally rocks. The cover of Deep Purple's Smoke on the Water is the best cover I have heard since Vanden Plas covered Kiss of Death from Dokken on their new CD. If you like Hard Rock at its finest...buy this...you won't be disappointed!
