5 out of 5 stars Motorhead's Best By Far!!!!.......2007-03-01

First of all, I'm not Roland E. Roberts - that's my dad - had to use his name because of age. Now.............
How could you not like this album? First of all, the title track sums up our world - listen to the lyrics - it's us! We lie, cheat, decieve. Lemmy has got it straight in this song! Just look around! Second, the riffs are amazing and the lyrics just seem to fall into place! And third, Ozzy and Slash (two icons of R&R) team up with Lemmy for I Ain't No Nice Guy. The God of Rock has sent me a message - if you have ever heard of Motorhead - GET THIS ALBUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5 out of 5 stars Excellent.......2005-09-22

The greatest metal band in the world with anther stellar cd. Generic Motorhead critics say, but what you expect? These guys have kicked ass for more then 30 years and Lemmy's voice has not faded like Ozzy, Slayer, amung some other metal bands. The songs are hard rock at its finest, and the 1 ballad per album (has happened since the beginning of the 1990s for some reason)is thoughtful and beautiful. One of the best albums by the most underlooked metal band in the world.

5 out of 5 stars Unbelievably brilliant....another top-notch effort !.......2005-02-25

'March or Die' is, simply put, a brilliant album. Motorhead has been so consistant and so friggin' good for so many years now...they may very well be the greatest heavy metal band of all time (settle down, Zeppelin and Sabbath fans, I'm about to explain myself...). What sets Motorhead apart from most metal bands are two qualities: the tight, take-no-prisoners-hellraiser-on-wheels assault of the playing and, most of all, Lemmy's songwriting. Scan the lyric sheet here and see Lemmy take on -- quite brilliantly, I might add -- TV evangelists in 'Bad Religion', politicians who create wars and abuse the environment in the title track, and the power balladeers by writing one called 'I Ain't No Nice Guy', making it an acoustic duet with Ozzy guesting on vocals, and giving it a melody that will stick in your head for days on end. Add a smokin' touch of boogie-woogie piano here and there and guitar-and-bass solos that will rip your tonsils out and make your heart thump, and what you have is one unbeatable band. Anyone who thinks that 'March Or Die' is Motorhead's commercial sell-out album just hasn't been listening close enough. Every band should sell-out like this !! They hold the legacy of the Ramones and Sex Pistols' attack dear to their hearts while staying true to the purest expression of heavy metal form around. We should feel blessed that they are still around making one wonderful album after another, and that we are still able to catch them live. Born to Lose, Live to Win -- indeed !!

5 out of 5 stars KILLS!!!!.......2003-10-29

With the exception of the opener, "Stand", There is not a dull moment in this CD. The favorites of mine are Jack the Ripper, Name in Vain, Too Good to Be True, Hellraiser, Asylum Choir and Bad Religion. I'll start with the absolute favorite one of mine, Name in Vain. This song is very fast-paced with KILLER and I mean KILLER, smack you across the face, heart-stopping guitar work. It's loud, it's mean, it's fast as hell, what more could you want from Motorhead??!! Not fast as in speed metal fast, but fast nonetheless. Lemmy SHOUTS out the lyrics at you so that you bloody well know not to.."take his name in vain!" Inbetween Lemmy's fierce singing, there is some fast, vicious guitar work that only builds and builds as the song goes on and the second solo will blow your mind!!- Too Good To Be true is a love song, but a hard, fast and upbeat Motorhead styled love song where Lemmy does some incredible harmony singing!! I've worn this song out so much in my tape deck it's sick!! Jack the Ripper is a frantic, fast-paced track about Lemmy warning people about Jack the Ripper's legacy. And there's a part in the song where Lemmy slows down the pace and gives some chilling lyrics to creep you out and then build you back up to the quick, frantic pace again. Two slower, yet very dirty, greasy Motorhead tracks on the album are Bad Religion and Hellraiser, for when you feel like slowing it down a bit. They both contain the trademark dirty, graesy heavy bass and lemmy's growling that we've all loved for over 20 years.

5 out of 5 stars Stellar work of hard rock-blues-metal.......2003-04-25

I don't know what other people are talking about but this is quite simply an awesome album from start to finish. It has more of a bluesy-hard rock quality to it but it works flawlessly here. There was not a single moment that I was bored listening to this juggernaut. I guess most people wanted something along the lines of "Overkill" or "Ace of Spades," cuz this doesn't sound like those albums.

March Or Die is all about catchy riffs and pure frenetic ENERGY! It also features some of Lemmy's best lyrics to date. "Stand" is a fast & fun opener, while "Cat Scratch Fever" is essentially a bass-driven rehash that is still pretty cool. "Bad Religion" is the best track by far, an awesome rollercoaster of speed, blues, thrash and deep bass combined into one awesome song. Ozzy joins the boys for "I Ain't No Nice Guy," another excellent track. "Hellraiser" is a classic, just listen to the bass attack throughout the song. "Too Good to Be True" is a catchy tune and "Name In Vain" is something you'd want to drink whisky and shoot pool to. The other tracks (including the self-titled) are pretty good filler, but all in all March Or Die is one of Motorhead's most diverse and rocking albums.
