Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Not bad, but certainly their worst.......2005-12-29

As contradictory as my review title may be, it is by no means a negative review. In my opinion, this is the worst Exodus album. However, as bad as it may be, this album is still good. Exodus was on a decline by 92'. Drugs, sex and alcohol had certainly taken a toll on them by this time. Nonetheless, they persevered and still delivered some good punches. The first two songs are good. Architect of Pain is an 11 minute song. I don't think any thrash band has ever written an 11 minute song. That's quite impressive. The covers are a bit strange, but well done.

4 out of 5 stars Exodus - 'Force Of Habit' (Capitol).......2005-02-06

'Force Of Habit',is in fact the band's sixth lp.I liked this disc at least as much as I did 'Bonded By Blood'.If you're a big Exodus fan, you're sure to dig this record. As for myself, this is only the second of their recorded works that I've had the pleasure.Heard others say that 'Force...' is a bit more melodic than they've been on past releases.Basically, just good old school speed metal.Tunes that I thought stood out were "Thorn In My Side","Feeding Time",the eleven-minute head smasher "Architect Of Pain" and their two unlikely covers, the Stone's "Bitch" and Elvis Costello's "Pump It Up".Should appeal to fans of Metal Church,Flotsam&Jetsam,Hirax.Overkill and Testament.Sad footnote:not sure as to what the band is doing now,but their vocalist Paul Baloff had passed on awhile back.I'll have to check out some of their other CD's.

4 out of 5 stars re: ARCHITECT OF PAIN.......2003-07-20

ARCHITECT OF PAIN is a pretty epic song. It's quite perfect.

5 out of 5 stars Exodus ROCKS!!.......2003-02-07

I can't believe there are NO reviews for this album...this fact alone compelled me to write one. I feel honored to be the first person to review FORCE OF HABIT on Amazom.com.

I was into 80's / 90's thrash metal when it was popular. Of course I've since moved on to a wide variety of music...but I will NEVER forget when this CD first came out. My friends and I were all BLOWN AWAY...we were all Exodus fans, but we'd been a bit disappointed by their last effort (Impact is Imminent.)

Once I heard FORCE OF HABIT I knew I had nothing to worry about. Here it is, over ten years later and I still love this album.

The biggest standouts from this album:

ARCHITECT OF PAIN is, in my opinion, the finest thrash metal song ever written. It is a true epic masterpiece.

GOOD DAY TO DIE is just a great song, with a BEAUTIFUL solo.

My hat is off to Gary Holt for his incredible songwriting and guitar playing talent. I'd also like to mention that this is the first album where Zetro's vocals REALLY fit in just perfectly with the rest of the band. It's like everything came together so well on this recording, I think it's Exodus's best work.

Anyway, I never write reviews but I just could not allow this CD to go unreviewed. It is truly an honor.
