Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Good Double Bass Sound or What?.......2005-09-06

Man, I just pissed on my pant's just by hearing their samples here.Looking forward to buy this CD(hope is not hard to find on stores)(yes it will)I have never heard such sound come off a Power Metal Band(Very Hard as F#ck).

4 out of 5 stars Nothing super original, but better than most.......2002-08-30

This band is straight up power metal, without any sappy synth elements that mar too many other band's material. The production is clanky, chunky, and , well, metallic sounding. The vocalist wails with the best of them (although the doubled up vocal effect is a little overdone) but the real reason to enjoy it is the rhythm section, which really cranks. Lars Ratz, bassist and producer, has about the meatiest bass tone I've heard. I am in agreement with the other reviewer who said that the only thing that holds this album back from being top shelf is the ballad, which I could just as soon do without. But that is easy enough to skip over. The album really gets better with each listen as well.

4 out of 5 stars Not bad...not bad at all........2000-10-13

I picked this up on a whim. It was metal, and the band's name was cool, so I thought, "Let's give it a shot." I was pleasantly surprised. Metalium's rhythm section is powerful and heavy, and their bass player is excellent. It's power metal, sure, but it's well-above average. The vocals are a little strained at times, and I'm not big on the singer's overall sound, but I've heard much worse. It's got a proggy element or two, if that's your thing.

5 out of 5 stars Picks up where Pt. I left off.......2000-09-15

It is hard to imagine that you could improve on Metalium's first CD in terms of the sheer power of the rhythm section. Well they've done it. I can't get over how this band has not become more well known. Lars Ratz simply has to be the best bass player that no one knows (and maybe they do and I've just be living in a dark closet these last couple years). The drummer is new, but he picks up where Mike Terrana left off and really delivers a tremendous drum performance.

Chris Caffery is no longer with the band. I guess he served his purpose (somewhat well known guitar player draws fans to new group in order to promote band). His presence or lack thereof does not matter really anyway. Between the rhythm section and the awesome vocalist Henning Basse, they produce another blistering CD. If you haven't heard Metalium yet, WAIT NO LONGER. Check out some of my other reviews and you'll see that I do not just throw 5 star ratings out there carelessly.

4 out of 5 stars An Assult.......2000-09-15

This is the second album from Metalium. On the whole the album is more cohesive than the first and has better production. The first song is a freakin assult - for me it has a slight Helloween influence, with soaring vocals and in the chorus the singer hits some incredibly high notes. The guitar work is pretty fast with some good melodic harmonies. This album is full of melody, but is also seriously intense - recommended for any fans of Helloween, Maiden, Hammerfall... It is the type of album that gets better with every listen. It is a great classic style metal album, I'm not crazy about the song Prophecy which is the only thing that keeps me from giving this a 5. The Prophecy is the only real slow moment(I typically don't have any problem with slower ballads) but this one just doesn't roll with me. Otherwise, this is a serious power metal melodic assult. Peace to SEP!1986!
