5 out of 5 stars Kreator's Only Solution: Violent Revolution .......2007-03-14

Kreator are without a shadow of a doubt one of the most influential and greatest thrash metal bands of all time, and they're also the best metal band to ever emerge from Germany in my book. They're also one of my all time favorite metal bands now. Their 2001 masterpiece "Violent Revolution" which is one of Kretor's best albums is nothing short of world class thrash metal brilliance, and I just can't praise this album enough. Every song on here is absolutely incredible and they all have an anthem like feel to them. Mille Petrozza's vocals are harsh and just flat out aggressive throughout, and he's also an awesome guitarist as well. Second guitarist Sami Yli Sirnio is awesome as well. Their dualing riffs are like a razor blade tearing right through your bare skin, the leads and solos are very melodic and eye popping they will definately make your face melt and bring tears of joy to your eyes as well. Christian Giesler has good bass lines that you can hear, and Ventor's awesome double bass drumming is just fast, vicious, and out of this world. The opening track "Reconquering the Throne" is one of the fastest, most aggressive, yet melodic songs on here, I mean the guitarwork and the drumming is just great. The title cut "Violent Revolution" is another catchy headbanger with some of the coolest lyrics ever written. Example: "Society failed to tolerate me, and I have failed to tolerate society. I mean how could you not like the lyics to that song. Other favorite songs on here include "All of the Same Blood", "Servant in Heaven - King in Hell", "Second Awakening", "Ghetto War" (which has some great face melting guitar leads), "Replicas of Life (this song really bring tears to my eyes whenever I listen to it) "Slave Machinery", "Bitter Sweet Revenge", and "System Decay". Please read on for my song ratings.
Jeremy's song ratings:
1. Reconquering the Throne (4:12) - 5/5
2. The Patriarch (0:52) - 4/5
3. Violent Revolution (4:54) - 5/5
4. All of the Same Blood (6:12) - 5/5
5. Servant in Heaven - King in Hell (5:07) - 5/5
6. Second Awakening (4:47) - 5/5
7. Ghetto War (5:02) - 5/5
8. Replicas of Life (7:31) - 5/5
9. Slave Machinery (3:55) - 5/5
10. Bitter Sweet Revenge (5:22) - 5/5
11. Mind on Fire (3:56) - 5/5
12. System Decay (4:34) - 5/5

Well there you have it. If your're a fan of Kreator, thrash metal, heavy metal, or if you just like good music in general like I do on a normal basis, you'll definately love this album man. THIS IS KREATOR, THIS IS VIOLENT REVOLUTION!! Enjoy.

5 out of 5 stars One of the best thrash metal bands, quite possibly the best thrash metal album of 2001........2006-12-30

Usually one of the most common things I ask myself when I hear a band like Kreator is, "Why didn't I start listening to these guys easlier?" These guys are so under the radar, I had never seen or heard of them until 2003 when Headbanger's Ball returned, and started showing the live video for Phobia. I didn't even start listening to them until this year when I bought Enemy Of God Revisited. One of the things that I admire about Kreator is their unwillingness to go mainstream, even during their experimental period through most of the 90's which left a lot of fans losing faith in the band. Outcast was good, but after listening to Cause For Conflict, I didn't bother with Renewal or Endorama. In 2001, they opted to return to their thrash sound, hiring producer Andy Sneap (Machine Head, Napalm Death, Skinlab), bringing back to life the sound from early albums like Terrible Certainty, Extreme Aggression, and Coma Of Souls. Of course, I can't stress enough....you bring Andy Sneap into the equation, the results are usually gonna be good. This album has everything the casual Kreator fan wants to hear and them some. They've managed to keep good interest with Violent Revolution, as well as Live Kreation and Enemy Of God. Here's to hoping that they start working on the next album.

4 out of 5 stars This time the ratings don't lie.......2006-07-24

BEWARE - If you do not like the vocals from Accept/Udo, then you will not like this cd as there is a very similar resemblance.

When I saw this cd I was not impressed with my vinyl Pleasure to Kill and my cassette, Coma of Souls.

When I looked at the ratings given here, the lowest was 4 stars with a large number of reviews. This time the ratings don't lie.

While it's close, I can't give it a 5 because it is not with Mettalica's Master of Puppets or Testament's The Gathering/ Practice what you Preach, Megadeth's Rust in Peace, Slayer's Reign in Blood/South of Heaven/Seasons in the Abyss - some of the best thrash metal ever.

What really impressed me is the drumming which is a killer, in a league with Dave Lombardo and the German power metallers.

When this guy actually sings for a few bars (many metal vocals are used for another tonal instrument), it is very good. He should consider doing this more often, maybe Kreator could become the trash metal equivilant of Opeth

Only those who do not like the vocals from Accept/Udo will not be impressed with this recording

5 out of 5 stars One of Kreator's best albums........2006-07-20

Kreator is my second favorite band ever (Slayer is #1), and this is one of their best records. In a world dominated by s***ty nu-metal bands like Slipknot and Mudvayne, Kreator offers REAL thrash. Kreator has never let up in their carreer, and never sold out, unlike *cough* Metallica *cough*, and this album prooves it all.

Every song on here is pure thrash greatness, but the best of them have to be "Reconquering the Throne," "Violent Revolution," "All of the Same Blood," "Servant in Heaven-King in Hell," "Second Awakening," and "System Decay." "Violent Revolution" cas very catchy but heavy riffs, and some of the coolest lyrics I've ever heard; "Society failed to tolerate me, and I've failed to tolerate society...my only hope, my only solution is a VIOLENT REVOLUTION!!"

Best album of 2001 by far; forget about "Toxicity" by an infamously overrated and horrible band (I think you know who it is).

Long live Kreator!!

5 out of 5 stars World Class Thrash Absolutely Incredible.......2006-04-28

After how long they have been around how can they possibly find it within themselves to put out something this good? If you are a thrash metal fan BUY THIS. Topical, angry (surprise), pointed lyrics along with engaging (not worn out) jackhammer riffs. Just when I think metal is out of new riffs this comes along. The guitar leads are crisp, melodic. I'm not a fan of melodic metal but the leads are an interesting change on the powerful rhythms. And it is just one pounding song after another - and without sounding alike. The songs are not boring (like, oh, I've heard this a thousand times); quite the opposite. Each one grabs your attention. An outstanding thrash metal cd. I am SO glad I trusted the other reviewers and bought this one. CHEERS!
